Donald A. Koehler (September 1, 1925 – February 26, 1981) is one of 24 known people in medical history to have verifiably reached a height of or more. He was generally recognized as the tallest living man in the world from at least 1969 until his death in 1981. At one time, Koehler stood , a result of the medical condition gigantism. Denton is a town in Fergus County, Montana, United States. The population was 205 at the 2020 census. Central Montana Rail, Inc. is headquartered in Denton. History A post office called Denton has been in operation since 1888. It was named after the Missouri county where the postmaster previously lived. The town was established at its present site when the railroad was extended to that point. The fast-moving West Wind Fire swept through the town in December 2021. Twelve families lost their homes. The wildfire destroyed or damaged many structures including garages, barns and grain elevators. Gigantism (, ''gígas'', "wiktionary:giant, giant", plural γίγαντες, ''gígantes''), also known as giantism, is a condition characterized by excessive growth and height significantly above average height, average. In humans, this condition is caused by over-production of growth hormone in childhood. It is a rare disorder resulting from increased levels of growth hormone before the fusion of the Epiphyseal plate, growth plate which usually occurs at some point soon after puberty. This increase is most often due to abnormal tumor growths on the pituitary gland. Amundsen High School
Roald Amundsen High School is a public four-year high school located between the Ravenswood, Andersonville and Lincoln Square neighborhoods in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Opened in 1929, Amundsen is a part of Chicago Public Schools district. The school is named for Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen (1872–1928). Väinö Myllyrinne (27 February 1909 – 13 April 1963) was a Finnish acromegalic giant who was at one time (1940–1963) the world's tallest living person, and may have become the tallest after the death of Robert Wadlow. He stood and weighed at the age of 21, but experienced a second phase of growth in his late thirties, attaining a height of . Myllyrinne was born in Helsinki, Grand Duchy of Finland, and is considered the tallest soldier ever, having served in the Finnish Defence Forces. He underwent his conscript training in 1929 in the Viipuri Heavy Artillery Regiment, and was tall and very strong.
