Don Emery
Don Emery (11 June 1920 – 19 November 1993) was a Welsh footballer. He played for Swindon Town, Aberdeen and East Fife, and in the late 1950s managed Highland League club Fraserburgh Fraserburgh (; sco, The Broch or ; gd, A' Bhruaich) is a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland with a population recorded in the 2011 Census at 13,100. 1944–45 In English Football
The 1944–45 season was the sixth season of special wartime football in England during the Second World War. Overview Between 1939 and 1946 normal competitive football was suspended in England. Many footballers signed up to fight in the war and as a result many teams were depleted, and fielded guest players instead. The Football League and FA Cup were suspended and in their place regional league competitions were set up. Appearances in these tournaments do not count in players' official records. Honours League competition was split into three regional leagues, South, West and North. Many fixtures were unfulfilled. The Scottish Football League (SFL) was a league featuring professional and semi-professional football clubs mostly from Scotland.One club, Berwick Rangers, is based in the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is located approximately 4 km south of the Anglo-Scottish border. From its foundation in 1890 until the breakaway Scottish Premier League (SPL) was formed in 1998, the SFL was the top level of football in Scotland.
