Super Unison
Super Unison was an American post-hardcore band that formed in 2014. The band's name was derived from the song of the same name released on 90s post-hardcore band Drive Like Jehu's second studio album '' Yank Crime''. Vocalist Meghan O'Neil Pennie describes the band's early material as "a weird intersection of Dischord Records and riot grrrl." The band has self-released an EP and released their debut studio album ''Auto'' through Deathwish Inc. in 2016. The band announced their dissolution in September 2019. History Following the release of Punch's 2014 third studio album ''They Don't Have to Believe'', vocalist Meghan O'Neil Pennie was asked to join a new band featuring Justin Renninger of Snowing and former Dead Seeds members Danny Goot and Kevin DeFranco. Super Unison held its first practice in December 2014, recorded an EP in February 2015 then released it in May 2015. Some of the lyrics on this EP subtly referenced the end of Punch. On October 14, 2016, Super Unison rele ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Black Lives At The Golden Coast
''Black Lives at the Golden Coast'' is the third full-length release from Los Angeles noise rock band The Icarus Line. ''Black Lives'' was also the second for major label V2 Records. Production Shortly after the long months of touring for Penance Soiree ended, the band returned to Los Angeles, penniless and completely frayed at the ends. All members went their separate ways except Joe Cardamone and Don Devore. Both recently lost their homes while being on the road and had returned to Los Angeles with no place to live. After a few weeks of crashing on couches, V2 decided it was best to put the singer-songwriter and bass player in a hotel where they could continue writing for a new record. Around this same time when Cardamone and Devore were working on various musical projects at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, Aaron North sent an email to The Icarus Line's management notifying that he would be leaving the group. At the time it wasn't a shock considering the amount of drugs every ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Penance Soiree
''Penance Soiree'' is the second full-length album released by Los Angeles band The Icarus Line. It was one of 2004's most critically acclaimed releases, and its reputation has subsequently earned praise in various publications, including the book ''1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die''. Due to infighting with the band's U.S. division of their record label at the time, V2 Records, the album, which was recorded in early 2003, was not released until May 2, 2004. Disagreements and aggravations on the band's end stemmed from the label's general lack of interest and support, a nearly non-existent promotional campaign for the album, and the group's control over its artwork. The U.S. division of the record label did not invest in even one advertisement for the release, and also made the band pay for the production of their music videos out of their own pocket. The album was produced by Michael Musmanno, and then mixed by Alan Moulder. Moulder also contributed some last minute reco ...
