Don Bosco (author)
Don Bosco (born in June 1971) is a writer and publisher of fiction books from Singapore. In 2011, he founded Super Cool Books, a publishing company with interest in fantasy and mystery stories for children and young adults. As an active advocate of self-publishing and digital publishing, he has published ebooks, paperbacks and an iPad app. Career Don Bosco received a PhD in Youth culture studies at the National University of Singapore in 2008. Then, he started out writing speculative fiction for middle grade readers. His first books were the Time Talisman ebook series, originally published by Select Books, about three Singaporean kids who travel back in time. This was followed by the Sherlock Hong series, about a young detective who lived in Singapore 100 years ago. The paper is published Monday to Saturday, with the Saturday edition called ''The Business Times Weekend''. It had a circulation (Print + Digital) of 39,500. Ownership It is part of the SPH Media Trust group which also publishes ''The Straits Times'' and ''The New Paper''. History It is an English-language newspaper published since 1 October 1976. Bao Zheng
Bao Zheng (; 5 March 999 – 3 July 1062), commonly known as Bao Gong (), was a Chinese politician during the reign of Emperor Renzong in China's Song Dynasty. During his twenty-five years in civil service, Bao consistently demonstrated extreme honesty and uprightness, with actions such as sentencing his own uncle, impeaching an uncle of Emperor Renzong's favourite concubine and punishing powerful families. His appointment from 1057 to 1058 as the prefect of Song's capital Kaifeng, where he initiated a number of changes to better hear the grievances of the people, made him a legendary figure. During his years in office, he gained the honorific title Justice Bao () due to his ability to defend peasants and commoners against corruption or injustice. Bao Zheng today is honored as the cultural symbol of justice in Chinese society. Singapore Writers Festival
The Singapore Writers Festival is a literary event organised by the National Arts Council. Inaugurated in 1986, the festival serves a dual function of promoting new and emerging Singaporean and Asian writing to an international audience, as well as presenting foreign writers to Singaporeans.
