Domenico Bollani (1514–1579) was a diplomat and politician of the Republic of Venice, and as Bishop of Brescia from 1559 to 1579 he was a leading figure of the Catholic reform. Political career Domenico Bollani was born to a noble family in Venice on 10 February 1514, or in 1513 according to other sources. He earned a doctorate of Law at the University of Padova and he took a political career in the Republic of Venice He was elected in the '' Consiglio dei Pregadi'' (the Senate) and he held also the office as one of the '' Savi di Terraferma'' (an office comparable to a minister). In 1547 he was appointed ambassador to England. Returned to Venice, in 1551 he served in the Council of Ten. Domenico "Mimmo" Criscito (; born 30 December 1986) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a left-back. A versatile player, Criscito was effective both offensively and defensively and was also capable of playing as a wing-back or centre-back, a position which he often occupied in his early career. Domenico Felice Antonio Cotugno (January 29, 1736 – October 6, 1822) was an Italian people, Italian physician. Biography Born at Ruvo di Puglia (Province of Bari, Apulia) into a family of humble means, Cotugno underwent physical and economic hardships to get an education. He was sent to nearby Molfetta for training in Latin, returning to Ruvo for work in logic, metaphysics, mathematics, physics, and the natural sciences. He soon found his natural bent in medicine and continued his studies from 1753 at the University of Naples, and in 1756 graduated from Schola Medica Salernitana, Salerno medical school. He received his doctorate in philosophy and physics in 1755, and became an assistant at the ''Ospedale degli Incurabili, Naples, Ospedale degli Incurabili'' (Neapolitan Hospital for Incurables). Domenico Corcione (20 April 1929 – 3 January 2020) was an Italian general who served as defence minister of Italy between 1995 and 1996. Early life and education Corcione was born in Turin on 20 April 1929. He entered Modena Military Academy in 1950 and graduated in 1952. Domenico Maria Leone Cirillo (10 April 1739 in Grumo Nevano, Kingdom of Naples – 29 October 1799 in Naples) was an Italian physician, entomologist, botanist and patriot of the Neapolitan Republic (1799), Neapolitan Republic of 1799. Domenico Cimarosa (; 17 December 1749 – 11 January 1801) was an Music of Italy, Italian composer of the Neapolitan School and of the Classical period (music), Classical period. He wrote more than eighty operas, the best known of which is ''Il matrimonio segreto'' (1792); most of his operas are comedies. He also wrote instrumental works and church music. Cimarosa was principally based in Naples, but spent some of his career in various other parts of Italy, composing for the opera houses of Rome, Venice, Florence and elsewhere. He was engaged by Catherine the Great of Russia as her court composer and conductor between 1787 and 1791. In his later years, returning to Naples, he backed the losing side in the struggle to overthrow the monarchy there, and was imprisoned and then exiled. He died in Venice at the age of 51. Domenico Cefalù (; born January 10, 1947) is a Sicilian-born mobster and is currently the boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City, since July 2011. Biography Cefalù was born in Palermo, Sicily, in 1947. After moving to the United States, Cefalù became involved in organized crime and started smuggling heroin for the Gambino crime family. In March 1982, Cefalù was convicted of heroin smuggling along with 10 other men, including his uncle and cousin, and served six years in prison. In 1990, Gambino boss John Gotti inducted Cefalù as a made man, or full member, into the Gambino family.
