Dolors Aleu I Riera
Dolores Aleu Riera (7 April 1857 in Barcelona – 19 February 1913) was a Spanish medical doctor. She was the first woman in Spain to be licensed in medicine and the second woman in the country to earn a Doctor of Medicine degree. Early life and education An only child, Aleu learned to read by age 5. She studied at the University of Barcelona, though during 1874-1875 she attended classes at the University of Valencia. She earned her undergraduate degree in July 1874. The following September, she enrolled in the university's medical school. Aleu completed her studies in 1879, but she didn't receive permission to take the licensing exam until nearly three years later, in the spring of 1882. She finally took the exam on 19 June that year. Dolors Bassa
Dolors Bassa i Coll (born 1959) is an educator, educational psychologist and Spanish politician from Catalonia who held the position of Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Families in the Generalitat de Catalunya until Spain dismissed the Catalan government on 27 October 2017. She is known for her syndicalist career in the major Spanish trade union, Unión General de Trabajadores. Since March 2018 she was remanded in custody, without bail, by order of the Supreme Court of Spain, accused of sedition and rebellion. She was sentenced on October 14, 2019, to 12 years in prison for sedition, as being responsible for devoting several thousand public schools as polling stations in the 1 October 2017 referendum. Maria Dolors Bramon Planes (born 31 December 1943) is a Spanish philologist, historian, and university professor specializing in the Muslim world. Biography Dolors Bramon married Ernest Lluch in 1966, with whom she had three daughters – Eulàlia, Rosa, and Mireia – and whom she accompanied to Valencia in 1970 when he joined its University. They lived there for a decade, until 1977. From 1968 to 1983 she was an editor of the '' Gran Enciclopèdia Catalana''. Dolors Lamarca y Morell (Granollers, Vallès Oriental, 19 October 1943) is a Catalan librarian and philologist. She has led the Service of Libraries and Bibliographic Heritage of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and has directed the National Library of Catalonia. Widow of Antoni Comas i Pujol, with whom she had three daughters. Biography Lamarca studied Classical Philology at the University of Barcelona, and library science at the School of Bibliology. On November 5, 1974, she joined the faculty of Archivers, Librarians and Archaeologists (Library Section) at the University of Barcelona. Dolors Martí Domènech (1901–1970) was the only woman to have a public career and to hold a position of political responsibility with the Catalan Republican government in Tarragona, Spain in the 1930s. She died in exile in France in 1970. Early life and education Dolors Martí Domènech was born in Tivissa in the Province de Tarragona, Spain in 1901, the daughter of Juliana Domènech Tost and Jaume Martí Jardí, a farmer. She was the youngest of ten siblings, six of whom died of diphtheria in childhood. Her father was a member of the Tivissa Republican Committee, led by Marcelino Domingo, a politician from Tortosa. Dolors Terradas i Viñals (born 24 February 1949) is a Spanish teacher and politician, a member of the Congress of Deputies during the 11th Legislature. Biography Dolors Terradas earned a licentiate in history from the University of Girona. She worked as a teacher of (ESO) geography and history at several vocational training centers, as well as baccalaureate programs. She also performed studies on demography in Pla de l'Estany, some of which she published in the '' Revista de Girona''. María Dolors Vázquez Aznar (15 March 1955 – 22 February 2014) was a Spanish realist painter and lawyer. Biography Dolors Vázquez Aznar was born with cerebral palsy. She later experienced polio, which affected mobility in her arms, facial muscles, neck, and eventually speech. Despite her disabilities, with the support of her family and an energetic and hard-working character, she learned to use her left foot in the same way that other children used their hands. She earned a Licentiate (degree)#Spain, licentiate in Law from the University of Valencia in 1983 and dedicated herself to painting professionally in 1995.
