Dolie Glacier
Dolie Glacier ( bg, ледник Долие, lednik Dolie, ) is the 9.5 km long and 2.4 km wide glacier on Pernik Peninsula, Loubet Coast in Graham Land, Antarctica, situated southwest of McCance Glacier and northeast of Blagun Glacier. It flows northwestwards between Hodge Ridge and Liebig Peak, and joins Wilkinson Glacier. The glacier is named after the settlement of Dolie in Southern Bulgaria. Pernik Peninsula
Pernik Peninsula ( bg, полуостров Перник, poluostrov Pernik, ) is the ice-covered peninsula projecting 40 km in northwest direction from Loubet Coast on the west side of Antarctic Peninsula. It is bounded by Darbel Bay to the northeast, Lallemand Fjord to the west and Crystal Sound to the northwest, and its northern part is dominated by Protector Heights. Loubet Coast
Loubet Coast is the portion of the west coast of Graham Land in Antarctic Peninsula, extending 158 km between Cape Bellue to the northeast and Bourgeois Fjord to the southwest. South of Loubet Coast is Fallières Coast, north is Graham Coast. The coast is named after Émile Loubet, President of France during the exploration of the area by the French Antarctic Expedition under Jean-Baptiste Charcot in January 1905. Graham Land
Graham Land is the portion of the Antarctic Peninsula that lies north of a line joining Cape Jeremy and Cape Agassiz. This description of Graham Land is consistent with the 1964 agreement between the British Antarctic Place-names Committee and the US Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names, in which the name "Antarctic Peninsula" was approved for the major peninsula of Antarctica, and the names Graham Land and Palmer Land for the northern and southern portions, respectively. The line dividing them is roughly 69 degrees south. Graham Land is named after Sir James R. G. Graham, First Lord of the Admiralty at the time of John Biscoe's exploration of the west side of Graham Land in 1832. McCance Glacier
McCance Glacier () is the 30-km long and 5 km wide glacier draining the Hutchison Hill area on the west slopes of Avery Plateau on Loubet Coast in Graham Land, Antarctica. It flows north-northwestwards along the west side of Osikovo Ridge, Kladnitsa Peak and Rubner Peak and enters Darbel Bay. The glacier was photographed by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd in 1955–57, and mapped from these photos by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey. It was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee for Robert A. McCance of the Department of Experimental Medicine, Cambridge University, who gave great help in the calculation of concentrated sledging rations for British polar expeditions during the period 1938–58. Blagun Glacier ( bg, ледник Благун, lednik Blagun, ) is the 13 km long and 2.3 km wide glacier on Pernik Peninsula, Loubet Coast in Graham Land, Antarctica, situated southwest of Dolie Glacier and northeast of Peyna Glacier. It flows northwestwards between Lane Ridge and Hodge Ridge, and joins Wilkinson Glacier. The glacier is named after the settlement of Blagun in Southern Bulgaria. Hodge Ridge
Hodge Ridge is a glacial feature located in the south-east of Protector Heights on the Loubet Coast, Antarctica. It is named thus to commemorate Leading Seaman Reg Hodge of HMS Protector who lost his life on Dec 6th 1963 south of Drake's Passage whilst on active service. HMS Protector was assisting RSS John Biscoe with seismic research when premature detonation of high explosive depth charges resulted in the deaths of both Reg Hodge and also Michael 'Shady' Lane, a leading seaman charged with the same duties of prepping the explosives. Liebig Peak
Liebig Peak () is a prominent peak on the Protector Heights, Pernik Peninsula, on the Loubet Coast of Graham Land, Antarctica. It is identifiable from both Darbel Bay and Lallemand Fjord. Antarctic Place-names Commission
The Antarctic Place-names Commission was established by the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute in 1994, and since 2001 has been a body affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria. The Commission approves Bulgarian place names in Antarctica, which are formally given by the President of the Republic according to the Bulgarian Constitution (Art. 98) and the established international practice.
