Doland is a city in eastern Spink County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 199 at the 2020 census. History Doland was platted in 1882. The city was named for F. H. Doland, an original owner of the town site. A post office has been in operation in Doland since 1882. Geography Doland is located at (44.894083, -98.100817). George Doland
Lieutenant-Colonel George Frederick Doland OBE (1 May 1872 – 26 November 1946) was a British businessman and Conservative politician. A native of the Wandsworth area, Doland was a merchant tailor, who established a chain of shops in south-west London. In 1912 he entered local politics, when he was elected as a Municipal Reform Party member of Wandsworth Borough Council for Balham ward. He served on Wandsworth council for more than a quarter of a century, and was mayor of the borough in 1928-29 and 1933–34. In 1934 he was elected to the London County Council as a Municipal Reform councillor for Balham and Tooting, and retained the seat in 1937. He was appointed a deputy lieutenant for the County of London in 1938. Doland was too old for active service in World War I, but became a member of the Volunteer Training Force. James Doland
James Alfred Doland (26 April 1880 – 19 October 1943) was a Member of the Western Australian Legislative Council for four months in 1911–12. The son of farmer Thomas Doland and Elizabeth née McGuffin, Doland was born in Albury, New South Wales on 26 April 1880. In 1889 he emigrated to Western Australia, working as a tailor at Bunbury and Perth from 1900. That year he was president of the Tailors' Association of Western Australia, and he was later president of the Perth chapter of the Australian Natives' Association. On 24 July 1907 he married Grace Margaret Radley, with whom he had a son and two daughters. From 1907, Doland became active in the Labor movement. He was secretary of the Political Labor Council from 1907 to 1909, and thereafter became president of the Metropolitan District Council of the Australian Labor Federation.
