Dokken is an American Heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1978. It split up in 1989 and reformed four years later. Wacken Open Air
Wacken Open Air (, abbreviated as W:O:A) is a Heavy metal music, heavy metal music festival, held annually since 1990 on the first weekend of August in the village of Wacken, Schleswig-Holstein, Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Almost all styles and subgenres of hard rock and heavy metal music, metal are represented and hosted. It is now one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany. House of Lords is an American rock band based in Connecticut, with members in New Jersey and Florida. History House of Lords was formed in 1987 by former Angel member and keyboardist Gregg Giuffria following his solo project Giuffria. After listening to demos – originally intended for Giuffria's third record – a record deal with Gene Simmons' company Simmons Records was agreed upon, on two conditions: to change the band's name (to House of Lords) and to recruit a new lead singer (firing David Glen Eisley in the process). James Christian replaced Eisley. Christian was suggested by ex-Giuffria and Quiet Riot bassist Chuck Wright, after having worked together in L.A. Rocks. Richard Earl "Reb" Beach Jr. (born August 31, 1963) is an American rock guitarist. He is a member of the bands Winger and Whitesnake. Career After graduating from Fox Chapel Area High School and attending Berklee College of Music in the early 1980s, he played in Fiona's backing band and became an accomplished studio musician, working with the likes of Howard Jones, Chaka Khan, The Bee Gees, Twisted Sister, and Roger Daltrey, among others, showcasing Beach's ability to adapt to various musical styles. While working with Fiona, he was introduced to Kip Winger, who was touring with Alice Cooper at the time. Eventually, they formed the band Sahara along with Rod Morgenstein and Paul Taylor, which was later renamed to Winger. Jeffrey Steven Pilson (born January 19, 1958) is an American musician best known for being the bass player in the glam metal band Dokken and currently classic rock band Foreigner (band), Foreigner. He has also had an extended stint with Dio (band), Dio in the 1990s. Biography Pilson was born on 19 January 1958 in Lake Forest, Illinois. Has an Irish descent. Spent part of his youth in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before moving to Longview, Washington, where he graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1976. Warren Justin DeMartini (born April 10, 1963) is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist for glam metal band Ratt, which achieved international stardom in the 1980s. Early life DeMartini was born on April 10, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of five boys. He spent his early years in the suburb of River Forest, Illinois. The family later relocated to San Diego. DeMartini became interested in rock music due to the influence of his older brothers Bernard and James, whose band rehearsed in the family basement. Brown (born September 8, 1956), also known as "Wild" Mick Brown, is an American retired drummer who played in the rock bands Dokken, Lynch Mob, The End Machine, and Xciter, as well as in Ted Nugent's band. Early life Brown was born in San Mateo County, California, on September 8, 1956, and began playing drums at age eight when on his birthday he took his first drum lesson from Mickey Hart (who three years later joined The Grateful Dead). Peter Baltes (born 4 April 1958) is a German musician, best known as former bassist of heavy metal band Accept and as current bassist of U.D.O. Career He started out in the Solingen prog rock band Pythagoras in the 1970s but is best known as the former bassist of the heavy metal group Accept, having played bass guitar on their first 15 albums. Gregory Jay Leon (born May 19, 1958) is an American guitarist best known for his involvement with American heavy metal bands Quiet Riot and toured with Dokken. He also played with future Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and bassist Nikki Sixx. Career Greg Leon was born in 1958 and grew up in Glendale, California, a foothills community of Los Angeles. As a teenager he was heavily influenced by T. Rex and the guitar playing of Marc Bolan. In his early twenties, Leon formed a power trio called Suite 19 as lead guitarist and vocalist, a band which included future Great White/Dokken drummer Gary Holland. Gary Holland
Gary Holland (born Gary Hallinan, September 14, 1958) is an American hard rock and heavy metal drummer who worked in the 1980s with bands originating from California.
