The Doha Metropolitan Area (DMA; also known as Greater Doha Area) is the metropolitan area of Doha, the capital city of Qatar Qatar, officially the State of Qatar, is a country in West Asia. Al Rayyan (city)
Al-Rayyan () is a large city in the similarly named municipalities of Qatar, municipality of Al Rayyan, in Qatar. The city and its suburbs comprise the largest population center in Qatar outside of Doha, Doha proper, immediately to its east. Consisting of all of the districts in the municipality's easternmost section, its western boundary is roughly where the Al Majd Road, Al Majd Highway runs through the municipality. The city is a part of the Doha Metropolitan Area. It was one of the venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Etymology The city's name derives from the Arabic word "ray", which translates to "irrigation". Lusail (, , ) is the second-largest city in Qatar after Doha, and the economic capital of Qatar, located on the coast, in the southern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail lies about north of the Doha city centre, just north of the West Bay Lagoon, on over and will eventually have the infrastructure to accommodate 450,000 people. Umm Salal (; also spelled Umm Slal) is a municipality in the State of Qatar. Historic landmarks such as the Barzan Tower are located in Umm Salal.The municipal headquarters is located in Umm Salal Ali, about 10 km from the coast and 15 km north of Doha, the Qatari capital. The Doha Industrial Area () is a district of Doha Municipality, Qatar. It was previously a part of the Al Rayyan Municipality, which now geographically separates it from the rest of Doha Municipality. The majority of the area's workers reside in the adjacent Labour City. A municipal office for Doha Municipality is found in the district. Education City is an educational and research hub located in Al Rayyan, Al Rayyan Municipality in the Doha Metropolitan Area of Qatar.
