Dogwood (band)
Dogwood is a punk rock band from Escondido, California founded in 1993. Their music has been compared to that of The Offspring, and they list Bad Religion, NOFX and Lagwagon as musical influences. History In 1993, Josh Kemble united with Jayce Molina on guitar, Josh Hagquist (of The Beautiful Mistake) on bass, and Billy Nichols on drums to form the band Half-Off. After a few shows, the band decided to find a better name, and a relative suggested "Dogwood" in reference to the legend of the dogwood cross. By 1996, Dogwood had been signed by the now-defunct Rescue Records label, which was also the home for such bands as P.O.D., No Innocent Victim, and Point Of Recognition. While on Rescue, Dogwood released two studio records, ''Good Ol' Daze'' and ''Through Thick & Thin''. Dogwood and Rescue Records parted ways, and then in 1998 the band self-released an eponymous album. Escondido (Spanish language, Spanish for "Hidden") is a city in San Diego County, California, United States. Located in the North County (San Diego area), North County region, it was incorporated in 1888, and is one of the oldest cities in San Diego County. Point of Recognition was a Christian hardcore band from Southern California. They take their influences from bands such as All Out War, Buried Alive, No Innocent Victim, and Hatebreed. The name Point of Recognition is based on the defining moment when a person comes to faith in Christ. History Point of Recognition had been playing for about a year before releasing their debut album '' Admiration of a Son'' on Rescue Records in 1999. Four of their songs were also included on a 3-way split CD, titled '' Now the Tables Have Turned'', on Facedown Records (along with Torn In Two and Cast In Stone). Yellowcard
Yellowcard is an American rock band who formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997. Their official lineup currently consists of lead singer Ryan Key, lead guitarist Ryan Mendez, bassist Josh Portman and violinist Sean Mackin.
