Bad Dreems
Bad Dreems (stylised as Bad//Dreems) are an Australian rock band from Adelaide, South Australia. The band comprises Ben Marwe (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Alex Cameron (lead guitar, backing vocals), Alistair Wells (rhythm guitar, backing vocals) and Miles Wilson (drums). Mark Opitz
Mark Opitz (born 1952) is an Australian record producer and audio engineer. He started his career with Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in 1971. He has produced AC/DC, the Angels, Australian Crawl, Cold Chisel, Divinyls and INXS. He has won the ARIA Award for Producer of the Year in 1987 and 1988. He had previously won Best Australian Producer at the ''Countdown'' Awards for his work in 1980, 1982, 1985 and 1986. On 8 June 2020 he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for "significant service to the performing arts, particularly to music production." Badlands (EP)
''Badlands'' is the debut extended play by Australian band Bad Dreems, released on 19 July 2013. The EP comprises songs written throughout the history of the band. Cameron said "Chills" is the first song they ever wrote, whilst "Hoping for" is the most recent. The recording occurred over the space of a year in various recording sessions. Guitarist Alex Cameron describes the album as "not an album where you really plan the vision and you sit down and map out ten songs and record them in one sitting – it's more of a collection of the singles that we put online, plus a few new songs." ''Gutful'' is the second studio album by Australian band Bad Dreems, released on 21 August 2015 via Ivy League Records. The album peaked at number 23 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. The album was recorded over 12 days with bassist James Bartold telling ''Scenestr'' that the title refers to "dissatisfaction with decisions being made and people across the world are having a gutful of everything that's going on." Badtold added, "We don't try to push a political agenda on people. Since our first record, we've tried to express our viewpoint on things that are happening in Australian society."
