DocuDays UA
The DocuDays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival is the only human rights film festival in Ukraine. The festival is held annually at Kyiv in March and admission is free to the general public. Each year, the festival has a different theme, and while not all movies shown adhere to that year's theme, all presented films are documentaries that focus on the subject of human rights. Iryna Tsilyk
Iryna Tsilyk (Ukrainian: Ірина Цілик; born 18 November 1982) is Ukrainian filmmaker and writer, the member of Ukrainian PEN International. The winner of the “Directing Award: World Cinema Documentary” for the film " The Earth Is Blue as an Orange" at 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Biography and career Iryna Tsilyk was born in Kyiv. Graduated from Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinematography and Television named by Ivan Karpenko-Kary summa cum laude. Now Iryna works as film director and screenwriter and mostly known for the award-winning " The Earth Is Blue as an Orange", "Rock, Paper, Grenade", "Invisible Battalion" projects. Moreover, Tsilyk is the author of several books (poetry, prose, children's books). International Documentary Association (IDA), founded in 1982, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that promotes nonfiction filmmakers, and is dedicated to increasing public awareness for the documentary genre. What's On Kyiv
''What's On Kyiv'' or ''What's On Kiev'' was a weekly, then monthly, then online English-language magazine published in Ukraine's capital Kyiv which covered both Kyiv, and Ukraine at large. As of late 2020, the magazine is defunct. History What's On was founded in 1999, the first Editor-In-Chief was Amanda Pitt. Peter Dickinson then edited between 2001 and 2007, followed by Neil Campbell. Campbell handed over editorial duties in 2011 to Lana Nicole Niland. A Molotov cocktail (among several other names – ''see other names'') is a hand thrown incendiary weapon constructed from a frangible container filled with flammable substances equipped with a fuse (typically a glass bottle filled with flammable liquids sealed with a cloth wick). Ivan Honchar Museum
Ivan Honchar Museum (''National Centre of Folk Culture'') is a museum in Kyiv, Ukraine showcasing the culture of Ukraine and preserving Ukrainian folk art. The museum was founded on a private collection of Ivan Makarovych Honchar shortly after his death in 1993. During the Soviet period, Ivan was accused of nationalism. Each individual showing an interest in his private collection was registered with the KGB. The collection consists of over 15,000 items from the 16th to the early 20th centuries. A good example is a painting of the Ukrainian folklore hero Cossack Mamay.
