Doc Carlson
Henry Clifford "Doc" Carlson (July 4, 1894 – November 1, 1964) was an American basketball coach and football player. He is a Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee as the men's college basketball coach of his alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh, from 1922 to 1953. At Pitt he compiled a record of 367–247 record (.595). His 1927–28 team finished the season with a 21–0 record and was retroactively named the national champion by the Helms Athletic Foundation and the Premo-Porretta Power Poll; Carlson's Panthers would receive retroactive recognition as the Helms national champion for the 1929–30 season as well. Carlson also led Pitt to the Final Four in 1941. As a student at the university, Carlson was also a First Team All-American end on Pitt's football team under coach "Pop" Warner. Murray City, Ohio
Murray City is a village in Hocking County, Ohio, United States. The population was 341 at the 2020 census. History Murray City was platted in 1873 and incorporated in 1891. It was named for John Murray Brown, the original owner of the town site. John Murray Brown was an early settler who bought up the land to lay out the town. He built a hotel in 1875 for the local workers but sold his interests in the community a few years later to a large coal company. Murray City was once one of the largest coal towns in the country with over 2,000 residents. It had a semi-pro football team in the 1920s, the Murray City Tigers, which is now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
