Do-The-Undo
Do-The-Undo is the solo outfit of Anne Soldaat, former main singer of Daryll-Ann. The band released its self-titled debut record in January 2007 on Excelsior Recordings. Biography When Daryll-Ann dissolved in 2004 its members all went their separate ways. Anne Soldaat, the band’s guitar player, does not waste any time and immediately starts making new music. His first project is for Cat-A-Day Tales, a book on cats that is accompanied by an album. Soldaat writes and sings several songs for the album. The package is released 2004. Throughout 2005 Soldaat coaches the band GEM during the recording sessions of their second album ‘Escapades’, assisting in songwriting. In the meantime he composes new songs for his new solo project, Do-The-Undo. Throughout 2006 Soldaat records with producer Frans Hagenaars. Daryll-Ann
Daryll-Ann was a Dutch rock band stemming from Ermelo, Netherlands. Between 1992 and 2004 the band released six studio albums, plus one live album. Daryll-Ann was the first signing of Dutch label Excelsior Recordings. History Early days (1988–1991) In the summer break of 1988 four high school students – Jelle and Coen Paulusma, Jeroen Vos and Frank van der Bij – decided to form a band. Before long Anne Soldaat joined the fold and rounded out the line-up. They took the name Daryll-Ann, based on a character that appeared in the American television show ''Hill Street Blues''. At this stage the band drew its influences from punk records and songs by The Cure. Gem (Dutch Band)
Gem is a rock band from Utrecht, Netherlands. The five-piece band was founded in 2003, and has released four albums of which ''Hunters Go Hungry'' (2011) is the newest. History In 2003 when singer Maurits Westerik joined with guitarist Bas de Graaff and bassist Vincent Lemmen. With the addition of second guitarist Simon Bonner the band recorded its first demo in Studio Moskou in Utrecht. Tony van Best drummed on the tracks. Having heard that The Libertines were to play in the Melkweg in Amsterdam, Westerik sent links to some of their MP3s, and asked if the band could play as opening act. The programmers at the Melkweg agreed. The band were the subject of a feature story on the channel 3VOOR12, and were included in a compilation album in the ''Unsigned Series'', an initiative of the Dutch Pop Institute. Hallo Venray is a guitar rock band from The Hague in the Netherlands. The band is a mainstay in the Dutch rock scene and has produced a number of successful albums of which ''Coffee and cake'' (2022) is the latest. Biography Hallo Venray was founded in 1985 by Henk Koorn and Toon Moerland. Together with drummer Dim Veldhuizen the band released its debut album, ''You Don’t Hit a Guy With Glasses On'', in 1989. In 1990, a follow-up album ''King'' was released. It was with the band's third record, ''The More I Laugh, The Hornier Due Gets'', that the band's star began to rise. Released in 1992, the album received a lot of airplay on Dutch national radio stations. The band toured extensively in their home country, with Pinkpop as a crowning achievement. Solo is the musical outfit of Dutch musicians Michiel Flamman and Simon Gitsels. The duo released two albums, of which the latest ''Solopeople'' was the biggest success. The album released on label Excelsior Recordings spawned a Dutch top 20 hit with ''Come Back To Me''. Biography Songs ’n Sounds (2003–2005) In 2003 Flamman and Gitsels team up under the name Solo. By then both have already paid their dues in the music industry. Flamman performed under the name J. Perkin and wrote songs for other artists. Gitsels worked as sessions musician for Mathilde Santing and Birgit. A year later the duo signs with Excelsior Recordings. On this label Solo releases its debut album ''Songs ‘n Sounds'' on 16 August.
