Dmitri Sergeyevich Milchakov (; born March 2, 1986) is a Belarusian professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing for HC Dinamo Minsk in the Kontinental Hockey League. He participated at the 2008 and 2011 IIHF World Championships as a member of the Belarus men's national ice hockey team The Belarusian men's national ice hockey team (; ) is the national ice hockey team that represents Belarus. Hockey Club Dinamo Minsk or HC Dinamo Minsk (; , ''Dynama-Minsk'') is a professional ice hockey club based in Minsk, Belarus. It is a member of the Tarasov Division in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Dinamo has qualified for the KHL playoffs ( Gagarin Cup) four times: in the 2010–11, 2011–12, 2014–15 and 2016–17 KHL seasons. The team has not won a single round in the Gagarin Cup playoffs, losing in all four series. History Dinamo was founded in 2003, taking the name of the Minsk club Dinamo, and won the Belarusian Extraleague championship title once and the Belarus Cup twice. On 26 March 26, 2008, the KHL confirmed the Belarusian club's inclusion in the Bobrov Division. 2008 IIHF World Championship
The 2008 IIHF World Championship was played between May 2 and May 18, 2008 in the Canadian cities of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Halifax (Nova Scotia) and Quebec City (Quebec). The two venues were the Halifax Metro Centre and the Colisée Pepsi. The tournament was won by Russia men's national ice hockey team, Russia which claimed its first gold medal since 1993. It was the 72nd Ice Hockey World Championships, IIHF World Championship event, and was run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It was the first time the final tournament is held in a non-European country since 1962, when it was held in Colorado, United States. The IIHF wanted to celebrate the federation's 100th anniversary by holding the tournament in the country where ice hockey was born.
