Djurgårdens IF Basket
Djurgårdens IF Basket, also known as simply Djurgården, is a Swedish basketball club based in Stockholm. It is the basketball section of the Djurgårdens IF multi-sports club, established in 1891. The Djurgården basketball team started in 2015. In 2019, Djurgården won the Superettan, Sweden's second tier league, and thus became eligible for promotion to the first tier Basketligan for the first time. In March 2019, the promotion was confirmed by the federation. Djurgården played their premiere in Basketligan against Jämtland Basket in Kungliga tennishallen, Stockholm, in front of 4,000 people and won 108–102. After one season in Basketligan, Djurgården withdrew from the league in May 2020. Basketligan
Svenska Basketligan, or the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), is the premier league for professional basketball in Sweden. The league was originally established in 1992 as Basketligan and was known as that prior to the season of 2006–07, but when the Sweden, Swedish company Obol Investment signed an agreement with the Swedish Basketball Federation in early October 2006, the league was renamed Obol Basketball League (OBL). In January 2007 the name was changed to Ligan, meaning simply the League. Superettan (basketball)
Superettan is the second-tier league of men's professional basketball in Sweden. The league was established in 2017 and replaced the Basketettan as the second level. Köping Stars was the inaugural champion. The winners of Superettan are promoted to Basketligan. Since the 2021-22 season there has been a playoffs after the end of the regular season. Jämtland Basket
KFUM Jämtland Basket is a basketball club founded in based in Östersund, Sweden. Founded in 1956, the team plays in the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), the Swedish top basketball league. Home games are played in the Östersunds Sporthall, which has a capacity for 1,700 people. The club also has a women's team playing at the highest national level. History The team was previously named the Jämtland Ambassadors before the organisation went bankrupt in 1998. The team was re-founded under its current name Jämtland Basket. They played a couple of seasons in the second-tier Basketettan before promoting back in 2000. Kungliga Tennishallen
Kungliga tennishallen ( English: Royal Tennis Hall) is a tennis venue at Lidingövägen 75 in Stockholm, Sweden. The stadium was built in October 1943 and has a capacity of 5,000. History Kungliga tennishallen, now a hard-court surface, remains the venue for the men's Stockholm Open tournament which was first held in 1969. In 1975 the venue was the host of the year-end Masters tennis tournament as well as the Davis Cup final between Sweden and Czechoslovakia. Bryan Anton Alberts (born December 29, 1994) is an American-Dutch professional basketball player. He played two seasons of college basketball with Long Beach State and three seasons in the Gonzaga University men's basketball program. College career Alberts arrived at Gonzaga in 2014, redshirting his first season due to injury. In April 2017, Alberts reached the NCAA Division I Championship Game with Gonzaga. Shortly after the end of that season, Alberts announced that he planned to transfer from Gonzaga. At the time, he was expecting to earn his bachelor's degree in economics in August 2017 (and ultimately did so), making him immediately eligible to play for another NCAA Division I school under the NCAA's graduate transfer rule. Yannick Anzuluni (born August 21, 1988) is a Canadian professional basketballer, who played for Rostock Seawolves of the German ProA league. Previously, when he played with the Tampereen Pyrintö team in the Finnish First Division, he was an All-Star, led the league in scoring and steals, and was named Player of the Year. Obinna Oleka (born November 4, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Piratas de La Guaira of the Venezuelan Basketball League. He played college basketball at Arizona State. Early life Oleka grew up in Washington, D.C., with his mother and brother.
