Disney Channel (Spanish TV Channel)
Disney Channel was a Spanish terrestrial television channel owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company Iberia and is based on the original U.S. pay network of the same name. It was originally launched on 17 April 1998, as a pay television channel, aimed at children and teenagers. In 2001, a timeshift feed of the channel was launched, named Disney Channel +1, broadcasting the same content as the main feed with a one-hour delay. In 2008, it became the first Disney Channel in the world to broadcast free-to-air after being launched on Spain's digital terrestrial television platform nationwide. This set a precedent for The Walt Disney Company for the potential launch of the network on free-to-air television on other countries, which was later carried out in Russia, Turkey and Germany. Jordi Cruz Pérez (born 14 October 1976) is a Spanish television presenter, known for presenting the show ''Art Attack''. He has also been a presenter on the radio station ''Cadena 100''. Since December 2020, he has presented the podcast ''¿Sigues ahí?'' for Netflix. ''Art Attack'' is a British children's television programme revolving around art, originally hosted by Neil Buchanan on CITV from 1990 to 2007, and subsequently hosted by Lloyd Warbey on Disney Junior from 2012 to 2015. The original programme aired on CITV between 15 June 1990 and 19 May 2007, and was presented by one of its creators, Neil Buchanan, throughout. Buchanan also wrote and produced the programme, and came up with a majority of the creative ideas. A new series launched on Disney Junior on 6 June 2011 and was presented by Jassa Ahluwalia. Canal+ was a Spanish satellite broadcasting platform. It was previously known as Digital+ since its launch in 2003, and from 2011 it was known as Canal+, being named after its main premium channel. Disney Channel was a Turkish free-to-air television network owned and operated by Disney Televizyon Yayıncılık A.Ş. Disney Channel () was a Russian free-to-air television channel, serving as a local version of the American Disney Channel. It was launched as a pay television channel on 10 August 2010. On 31 December 2011, after acquiring the Russian free-to-air television network Semyorka, Disney Channel was launched in its place, becoming the second Disney Channel feed to be broadcast on free-to-air national television, after Spain and before Turkey and Germany.
