Discovery Gardens ( ar, ديسكفري جاردنز) is a rapid transit station on the Expo 2020 branch of the Red Line of the Dubai Metro in Dubai, UAE, serving Discovery Gardens and surrounding areas in Jebel Ali. The station opened as part of Route 2020, created to link to Expo 2020, on 1 January 2021. Discovery Gardens ( ar, ديسكفري جاردنز) is a neighbourhood in the Jebel Ali district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. History Discovery Gardens forms the northern part of the Jebel Ali Village area. The original Jebel Ali Village was constructed in 1977 to provide accommodation to construction contractors' staff. At this time, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum planned to develop Jebel Ali into an industrial area with its own airport (now Al Maktoum International Airport to the south), port (now the Port of Jebel Ali), and township (now Jebel Ali). The area was effectively a small British-style garden city and a project of Sir William Halcrow and Partners. The area was later developed by Nakheel Properties from 2008 onwards. Dubai Metro
The Dubai Metro is a rapid transit rail network in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is currently operated by the French company Keolis. The Red Line and Green Line are operational, with a major 15 km (9.3 mi) extension to the Red Line known as Route 2020 to the Expo 2020 site announced in April 2015 and opened in 2021. The Red Line is one of the two lines on the Dubai Metro network in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Red Line runs from Rashidiya in the east to Jebel Ali in the west and travels parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road for most of its length.
