''Discospermum reyesii'' is a species of genus Discospermum ''Discospermum'' is a genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. The genus is found from India to the Philippines. Species * '' Discospermum abnorme'' ( Korth.) S.J.Ali & Robbr. * '' Discospermum apiocarpum'' Dalzell ex Hook.f ..., which are flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. The species was described in 2018, and was found on Mt. Lantoy, Cebu, Philippines. This species closely resemble that of '' D. whitfordii'' because of slightly similar leaf blades, leaf apices, and non-ribbed fruits. However, the species differs from '' D. whitfordii'' due to its smaller fruits with size of 1 - 1.2 cm, smaller seed size to 1 - 1.4 mm x 1.5 - 2.5 mm dimensions, 4 - 6 seeds per locule, whereas ''D. whitfordii'' have 2 - 2.7 cm fruit size, 5 - 6.5 mm x 5 - 6.5(7) mm seed size, and 5 - 12 seeds per locule. Nicol (or Nicholas) Alexander Dalzell FRSE FLS (21 April 1817 – 18 December 1877) was a Scottish botanist. He was one of the first persons to form the link between forest denudation and the impact of rainfall upon the wider countryside. Life Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, his early education was at the High School in Edinburgh. Dalzell studied divinity (rather than botany) at university, under Rev Thomas Chalmers, and received an M.A. at the University of Edinburgh in 1837. He served as the assistant commissioner of customs, salt and opium in Bombay, India in 1841. In 1862 he became conservator of forests in Bombay and superintendent of the Botanical Gardens in the Bombay Presidency. He published ''The Bombay Flora'' (1861), and other works on Indian botany, and retired in 1870.
