Disco-Zone
''DiscO-Zone'' is the third and final album by the Moldovan band O-Zone. It was first released on June 6, 2004, in multiple countries throughout Europe. Produced by the band, the album features their hit singles "Dragostea Din Tei (Words of Love)" and " Despre Tine (About You)". It was a commercial success in many European countries, particularly in Portugal where it hit number one for eight consecutive weeks and was in the top 30 for 26 weeks, and it also reached the top ten in Wallonia, Belgium, Poland, Norway, Switzerland, and Finland. In France, it only reached number 15 but stayed in the top 200 for 36 weeks. In Japan it reached the number one position in its 24th week on the chart. Dan Bălan
Dan Mihai Bălan (born 6 February 1979) is a Moldovan artist, songwriter, and record producer. He is the founder of Moldovan eurodance band O-Zone, and wrote their international hit single " Dragostea Din Tei", which topped the charts in 32 countries and sold 12 million copies worldwide. The artist was chosen by Disney Channel Romania to sing the theme song from the series '' Brandy & Mr. Whiskers''. Early life Dan Mihai Balan was born on 6 February 1979 in Chișinău, to Mihai Balan, a diplomat, and Ludmila Balan, a TV presenter. He has a sister, TV presenter Sanda Bălan (born 1984). O-Zone
O-Zone was a Moldovan Eurodance group that was active from 1999 to 2019. Originating in 1998 as a duo consisting of Dan Bălan and Petru Jelihovschi before the latter's departure, their official trio lineup in 1999 consisted of Dan Bălan, Radu Sîrbu, and Arsenie Todiraș. The group gained global popularity with their song "Dragostea Din Tei" and their subsequent album '' DiscO-Zone''. The group re-united in 2017 for two concerts in Chișinău and Bucharest and in 2019 for one concert in Bucharest. Dragostea Din Tei
"Dragostea Din Tei" (; official English title: "Words of Love", also informally known as "Maya Hi" and "Numa Numa") is a song by Moldovan pop group O-Zone, released as the second single from their third studio album, '' DiscO-Zone'' (2004). The song's title is Romanian for "Love from the linden tree". The song received positive reviews from critics and shot to number one on the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles, where it remained for 12 weeks between June and early September 2004. It topped the single charts in France, Germany and Austria for over three months, reached number 3 in the United Kingdom and number 72 on the US Pop 100. The song became the fourth best-selling single of the 21st century in France, with 1.17 million units sold. Despre Tine
"Despre tine" ( en, "About You") is the second single release from O-Zone's second album '' Number 1'', and came back in their last album, ''DiscO-Zone''. Following up their 2003 summer hit "Dragostea Din Tei", "Despre tine" proved to be a smaller hit than its predecessor, but a big enough one to make number one in several European countries. Song information The single was not released in the United Kingdom and did not benefit from large-scale promotion like "Dragostea Din Tei". "Despre tine" reached number four on the Eurochart Hot 100. On ''DiscO-Zone'', the track features a similar sound to O-Zone's previous hit, originally circulating on the Internet as an allegedly 'original version' of the "Dragostea din tei" song, due to the similar chorus.
