Dirk Englund
Dirk Robert Englund is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is known for his research in quantum photonics and optical computing. Biography and education Dirk Robert Englund grew up in Germany and California. He attended the California Institute of Technology, where he majored in physics and received his B.S. in 2002. After spending one year at the Technical University of Eindhoven on a Fulbright scholarship, he returned to the United States to earn his M.S. in electrical engineering and Ph.D. in applied physics from Stanford University in 2008 under the supervision of Jelena Vuckovic. Quantum Network
Quantum networks form an important element of quantum computing and quantum communication systems. Quantum networks facilitate the transmission of information in the form of quantum bits, also called qubits, between physically separated quantum processors. A quantum processor is a machine able to perform quantum circuits on a certain number of qubits. Quantum networks work in a similar way to classical networks. The main difference is that quantum networking, like quantum computing, is better at solving certain problems, such as modeling quantum systems. Robert Keith Englund
Robert K. Englund (March 29, 1952 - May 24, 2020) was an American Archaeologist and Assyriologist. Biography Robert Keith Englund was born in Bellingham, Washington; attended high school in Yakima, WA; and enrolled in mathematics at the University of Washington in 1970. He quit in 1972 to travel the world (supporting himself through jobs such as carpentry), then enrolled at the University of California at Berkeley (1974) where he completed a BA in Near Eastern Studies in 1977. Mikhail Lukin
Mikhail Lukin (); born 10 October 1971) is a Russian theoretical and experimental physicist and a professor at Harvard University. He was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences in 2018. Early life Mikhail "Misha" Lukin was born in Moscow, Russia. He studied physics and mathematics at MIPT, and he graduated in 1993.
