The Director of Russia's Federal Security Service (Директор Федеральной Службы Безопасности) is the head and chief executive officer of the Federal Security Service, which is one of several Russian Intelligence Community, Russian intelligence agencies. The Director of FSB reports directly to the president of Russia. The Director is assisted by the Deputy Director of the FSB. Alexander Vasilyevich Bortnikov (; born 15 November 1951) is a Russian intelligence officer who has served as the Director of the Federal Security Service, director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) since 2008. Nikolay Dmitrievich Kovalyov (; 6 August 1949 – 5 April 2019) was a Russian politician. Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th convocations (1999–2019), where he chaired the Duma's Veterans' Committee.
