Dipak Banerjee
Dipak Banerjee (1930-2007) was an Indian economist. He obtained his Bachelor, later on Doctorate from the London School of Economics and taught at Presidency College, Calcutta where he eventually became head of the economics department. Among his students at Presidency were many noted Indian economists, such as Bhaskar Dutta, Subhashis Gangopadhyay, Dilip Mukherjee and Debraj Ray. His wife Nirmala Patankar is also an economist, as is his son, the Nobel Prize winner Abhijit Banerjee Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee (; born 21 February 1961) is an Indian-American economist who is currently the Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Presidency College, Calcutta
Presidency University, Kolkata (formerly known as Presidency College, Kolkata) is a second major public state aided research university located in College Street, Kolkata. Considered as one of best colleges when Presidency College was affiliated to University of Calcutta. Established in 1817, it is the oldest college in India (in Asia as well). It was formerly known as Hindu College and then Presidency College and now Presidency University. Debraj Ray (economist)
Debraj Ray (born 3 September 1957) is an Indian-American economist, who is currently teaching and working at New York University. His research interests focus on development economics and game theory, and was the Co-editor of ''American Economic Review''. Ray is Julius Silver Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Science, and the Professor of Economics at New York University since 1999. At the same time, he is a Part-Time Professor at University of Warwick. Ray is a council member of Game Theory Society and he is also a board member in the Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD) and Theoretical Research in Development Economics (ThReD). Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee (; born 21 February 1961) is an Indian-American economist who is currently the Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
