Diosdado Cabello Rondón
Diosdado Cabello Rondón (born 15 April 1963Vicepresidencia de la República Bolivariana de VenezuelaDiosdado Cabello Rondón, accessed 19 April 2010) is a Venezuelan politician who currently serves as Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace since 2024. Cabello is a former member of the National Assembly of Venezuela, where he previously served as Speaker. He is also an active member of the Venezuelan armed forces, with the rank of captain. Cabello played a key role in Hugo Chávez's return to power following the 2002 Venezuelan coup d'état attempt. He became a leading member of Chavez’s Movimiento V República (MVR), and remains a leading member of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela, into which MVR was merged in 2007. José David Cabello Rondón (11 September 1969) is a Venezuelan politician. In July 2006 was appointed Venezuelan Minister of Infrastructure, and in February 2008 he became the head of SENIAT, the Venezuelan tax agency. He had previously been head of Conviasa (from April to June 2006). Sanctions The government of Canada sanctioned Cabello as being someone who participated in "significant acts of corruption or who have been involved in serious violations of human rights". Marleny Josefina Contreras Hernández de Cabello (born 14 June 1963) is a Venezuelan engineer and politician, wife of Diosdado Cabello. The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (Spanish: ''Ministerio del Poder Popular para las Obras Públicas y Vivienda'', ''MOPVI'') was a ministry of the Venezuelan government until June 2010. The National Assembly () is the federal legislature of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which was first elected in 2000 under the 1999 constitution. It is a unicameral body made up of a variable number of members, who are elected by a "universal, direct, personal, and secret" vote partly by direct election in state-based voting districts, and partly on a state-based party-list proportional representation system.
