Dino Bardot
Dino Bardot (born 8 May 1972) is a Scottish musician. He is the guitarist for indie rock band Franz Ferdinand (band), Franz Ferdinand and previously played guitar or bass for the indie bands 1990s (band), 1990s, Stinky Munchkins, The Yummy Fur, V-Twin, and Wife Vs. Secretary. Early life and education Bardot was born on 8 May 1972 in Glasgow, Scotland. He attended Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Duncan Of Jordanston College Of Art and Design in Dundee, Scotland and graduated in 1994. He later attended The Glasgow School of Art. Completing a Masters in Sound for the Moving Image in 2016. Career V-Twin V-Twin were a rock band formed in 1997, comprising Jason MacPhail (vocals) and Michael McGaughrin (drums), with a number of lineups including other musicians, before bass player, Bobby Kildea, and guitarist, Bardot became permanent members. ''Always Ascending'' is the fifth studio album by Scottish indie rock band Franz Ferdinand. It was released on 9 February 2018 through the Domino Recording Company. It is the band's first non-collaborative album in over four years, following '' Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action'' (2013). It is also their first album to feature new member Julian Corrie, who joined shortly after the departure of Nick McCarthy, and their last to feature drummer Paul Thomson. The album received generally positive reviews from critics. It peaked at number three in Scotland and number six in the UK. Nicholas John McCarthy (born 13 December 1974) is an English-German musician. His main focus is on songwriting and song production. He is also a guitarist, singer and keyboard player. McCarthy was a founding member of the Glasgow-based band Franz Ferdinand, and remained until his departure in 2016. Life McCarthy was born in Blackpool, England. He grew up in Vagen near Munich, Bavaria, Germany. The artist Anna McCarthy is his younger sister. As a teenager he stole a car with friends and since then has been nicknamed "McCarThief". Paul Thomson
Paul Robert Thomson (born 15 September 1976) is a Scottish musician who was the drummer for the Glasgow-based band Franz Ferdinand from their formation in 2002 until October 2021. Biography Thomson has always been interested in music, able to play various instruments such as guitar, keyboard and bass guitar in addition to the drums. During the late 1990s, he was drummer of The Yummy Fur and was at one point part of The Purple Bajengas and Pro Forma. It was in The Yummy Fur that Thomson would meet Alex Kapranos. When The Yummy Fur broke up, Thomson had various odd jobs DJing and working as a nude model at the Glasgow School of Art. He is also the drummer in the Glasgow band Amor, with Luke Fowler, Richard Youngs and Michael Francis Duch. In 2001, Thomson joined Franz Ferdinand, originally playing guitar. Rough Trade Records is an independent record label based in London, England. It was formed in 1976 by Geoff Travis, who had opened a record store off Ladbroke Grove. It is currently run by co-managing directors Travis and Jeannette Lee and is affiliated with Beggars Group. Jackie McKeown (born John McKeown; 17 February 1971) is the Scottish former lead singer and guitarist for the Glasgow indie rock band The Yummy Fur who plays in 1990s. Early life Born in Bellshill, Scotland, McKeown grew up in Blantyre near Glasgow. His sister is Jane “Jane Egypt” McKeown from the band Lungleg and she credits him with being the reason why she started playing music. His early teenage years were coloured by obsessions with David Bowie and European art cinema.
