2012 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election
The 2012 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly election were the 3rd Vidhan Sabha ( Legislative Assembly) election of the state of Uttarakhand in India. Elections were held on 30 January 2012 when Indian National Congress emerged as the largest party with 32 seats in the 70-seat legislature and formed the government with the help of Progressive Democratic Front alliance (Bahujan Samaj Party, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (P) and Independents). It is essentially the city government and differs from the MDDA (Mussoorie Dehradun Development Board), which is a state run organisation. The 2018 Dehradun Municipal Corporation election was a municipal election to the Dehradun Municipal Corporation which governs Dehradun City, the largest city in Uttarakhand. It took place on 18 November 2018. To the 100-ward body, 60 members from the Bharatiya Janata Party were elected, while 34 came from the Indian National Congress and remaining six being Independents.
