Dinanath Gopal Tendulkar
Dinanath Gopal Tendulkar (1909–1972) was an Indian writer and documentary film maker. He is most well known as the author of an eight-volume biography of Mahatma Gandhi, titled ''Mahatma: Life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi''. He was also a close associate of Vithalbhai Jhaveri and collaborated for the documentary film, '' Mahatma: Life of Gandhi, 1869–1948''. He died on Monday, June 12, 1972. Early life He was born in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra ( Bombay Presidency as it was called then) and was educated first at University of Cambridge and then at Universities Marburg and Göttingen. Writer Tendulkar gained international notability for writing the eight-volume biography of Mahatma Gandhi, titled ''Mahatma: Life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi''. His most noted work is his ''Gandhi biography,'' which was first published in 1951 with a foreword by the then Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Sergei Eisenstein
Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein; (11 February 1948) was a Soviet film director, screenwriter, film editor and film theorist. Considered one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, he was a pioneer in the theory and practice of montage. He is noted in particular for his silent films '' Strike'' (1925), '' Battleship Potemkin'' (1925) and ''October'' (1928), as well as the historical epics '' Alexander Nevsky'' (1938) and ''Ivan the Terrible'' (1945/1958). In its 2012 decennial poll, the magazine '' Sight & Sound'' named his ''Battleship Potemkin'' the 11th-greatest film of all time. Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan
Abdul Ghaffar Khan (; 6 February 1890 – 20 January 1988), also known as Bacha Khan () or Badshah Khan () was a Pathan activist and formerly an Indian independence activist from the North-West Frontier Province, and founder of the Khudai Khidmatgar resistance movement against British colonial rule in India. He was a political and spiritual leader known for his nonviolent opposition and lifelong pacifism; he was a devout Muslim and an advocate for Hindu–Muslim unity in the subcontinent. Because of his similar ideologies and close friendship with Mahatma Gandhi, Khan was nicknamed Sarhadi Gandhi (). In 1929, Khan founded the Khudai Khidmatgar, an anti-colonial nonviolent resistance movement. Rajendra Prasad
Rajendra Prasad (3 December 1884 – 28 February 1963) was an Indian politician, lawyer, journalist and scholar who served as the first president of India from 1950 to 1962. He joined the Indian National Congress during the Indian independence movement and became a major leader from the region of Bihar. A supporter of Mahatma Gandhi, Prasad was imprisoned by British authorities during the Salt Satyagraha of 1930 and the Quit India movement of 1942. After the constituent assembly 1946 elections, Prasad served as 1st Minister of Food and Agriculture in the central government from 1947 to 1948.
