General Dimitrios Grapsas () is a Greek military officer, who served as the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff from August 2007 to August 2009. Dimitrios Voulgaris (general)
Dimitrios Voulgaris (; 20 December 1802 – 10 January 1877) was a Greek revolutionary fighter during the Greek War of Independence of 1821 who became a politician after independence. He was nicknamed "Tsoumpes" (" Τσουμπές") after the distinctive Ottoman-style robe he wore. Biography Voulgaris was an Arvanite, born on 20 December 1802 on the island of Hydra in the Saronic Islands. When the War of Independence broke out, he participated in naval operations against the forces of the Ottoman Empire. After independence was achieved, Voulgaris became involved in politics as a bitter opponent of Governor Ioannis Kapodistrias. In 1843, Voulgaris was appointed to the newly created Senate and in 1847, he became Minister for the Navy. He became the 11th Prime Minister for the first time in 1855 during the Crimean War. General Nikolaos Douvas (, born 1947) served as Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff. General Douvas was honourably discharged from the Hellenic Army on March 1, 2006. Air Chief Marshal Ioannis Giangos (; born 1951) is a retired Greek Air Force officer and a former Chief of the National Defense General Staff of Greece. He served as an interim Minister for National Defence in the Caretaker Cabinet of Vassiliki Thanou-Christophilou. Career Ioannis Giangos was born in December 1951 in Trikala, Thessaly. He attended the Greek Air Force Academy and graduated in 1974 as a pilot officer. Admiral Panagiotis Chinofotis (, also transliterated ''Panayiotis Khinofotis'', born 12 August 1949) is a retired Hellenic Navy officer, who served as the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff from 2005 to 2007.
