Dilshad Khan
Dilshad Khan (born Arabinda Dasgupta) is a Hindustani classical singer and the husband of Begum Parween Sultana. Dilshad is the younger brother of eminent sarod maestro Buddhadev Das Gupta Early life and background Khan was born in Kolkata. Dilshad is the younger brother of eminent sarod maestro Buddhadev Das Gupta. He attended St. Xavier's Collegiate School, Kolkata, where future music composer R. D. Burman was his classmate. He started learning tabla at the age of four, but later took up singing under the guidance of N.C. Chakravorty, Hidan Banarjee and Gyan Prakash Ghosh. He was inspired by Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. Begum Parween Sultana (born 24 May 1950) is an Indian Hindustani classical singer of the Patiala Gharana. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 1976 and the Padma Bhushan in 2014 by the Government of India and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award by the Sangeet Natak Akademi in 1998. Career Begum Parween Sultana received training from Acharya Chinmoy Lahiri, among others. Begum Parween Sultana started her professional career with Abdul Majid's Assamese Film Morom Trishna. Agra Gharana
The Agra gharana is a tradition of Hindustani classical vocal music descended from the Nauhar Bani. So far, Nauhar Bani has been traced back to around 1300 AD, during the reign of Emperor Allauddin Khilji of Delhi. The first known musician of this tradition is Nayak Gopal. The style prevalent then in the Gharana was "Dhrupad- Dhamar". Ghagghe Khudabuksh (1790–1880 AD) introduced the "Khayal" style of Gwalior Gharana into Agra gharana which Khudabaksh learnt from Natthan Paribaksh of Gwalior.
