''Dilemma of Two Angels'' (French: ''Impasse des Deux Anges'') is a 1948 French crime film directed by Maurice Tourneur and starring Paul Meurisse, Simone Signoret and Marcel Herrand.Waldman p.168 It was the final film directed by Tourneur in a career that stretched back to the silent era and included nearly a hundred films. The film's sets were designed by the art director Jean d'Eaubonne. Maurice Félix Thomas (; 2 February 1876 – 4 August 1961), known as Maurice Tourneur (), was a French film director and screenwriter. Life Born Maurice Félix Thomas in the Épinettes district (17th arrondissement of Paris), his father was a wholesaler. As a young man, Maurice Thomas first trained as a graphic designer and a magazine illustrator but was soon drawn to the theater. In 1904, he married the actress Fernande Petit. They had a son, Jacques Tourneur, Jacques (1904–1977), who would follow his father into the film industry, establishing his own reputation as a director of American films in the 1940s and 1950s. Marcelle Praince (9 June 1882 – 26 October 1969) was a French actress. Praince was born Célestine Cardi in Vigeois, Corrèze, France and died in Maisons-Laffitte, Yvelines. Praince acted in dozens of films and appeared in stage productions. As a young woman she was considered a fashionable stage beauty. After emigrating to France, Gridoux began his film career in 1931, playing mainly in roles of traitors. Reggie Nalder (born Alfred Natzler; 4 September 1907 – 19 November 1991) was a prolific Austrian film and television character actor from the late 1940s to the early 1990s. His distinctive features—partially the result of disfiguring burns—together with a haunting style and demeanor led to his being called "The Face That Launched a Thousand Trips".
