Digbeth Tram Stop
The West Midlands Metro is a light-rail/tram system in the county of West Midlands, England. The network has 33 stops with a total of of track; it currently consists of a single route, Line 1, which operates between the cities of Birmingham and Wolverhampton via the towns of Bilston, West Bromwich and Wednesbury, on a mixture of former railway lines and urban on-street running. The system is owned by the public body Transport for West Midlands, and operated by Midland Metro Limited, a company wholly owned by the West Midlands Combined Authority. During August 1995, a 25-year contract for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Line 1 was awarded to the Altram consortium; construction commenced three months later. CAF Urbos
The CAF Urbos is a family of trams, streetcars, and light rail vehicles built by Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, CAF. The Spain, Spanish manufacturer CAF previously made locomotives, passenger cars, regional, and underground trains. In 1993, CAF started building trams for Metrovalencia, with the delivery of 16 trams until 1999. This was a variant of a Siemens design and some components were delivered by Siemens, including bogies and traction motors. This design was also sold to Trams in Lisbon, Lisbon Trams in 1995; CAF then decided to design and build the Urbos in-house. Wolverhampton station is a step-free access regional interchange railway station situated in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England on the Birmingham Loop of the West Coast Main Line. Birmingham Snow Hill, also known as Snow Hill station, is a railway station in Birmingham City Centre. It is one of the Birmingham station group, three main city-centre stations in Birmingham, along with and . Snow Hill was once the main station of the Great Western Railway in Birmingham and, at its height, it rivalled New Street station with competitive services to destinations including , , , Wales and South West England. The Birmingham Snow Hill to Wolverhampton Low Level Line was part of the Great Western Railway's to route. The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is the combined authority for the West Midlands metropolitan county in the United Kingdom. It was established on 17 June 2016 by statutory instrument under the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009.
