Steven Knight (born 5 August 1959) is a British screenwriter, producer, and director for film and television. He wrote the screenplays for the films ''Closed Circuit'', '' Dirty Pretty Things'', and ''Eastern Promises'', and also wrote and directed the films '' Locke'' and ''Hummingbird'' (a.k.a. ''Redemption''). Knight is one of three creators of ''Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'', a game show that has been remade and aired in around 160 countries worldwide. He is also the creator of the BBC's ''Peaky Blinders'' and '' SAS: Rogue Heroes'', and has written for '' Commercial Breakdown'', '' The Detectives'', '' See'', and ''Taboo''. Streetly is an area in the county of West Midlands, England which lies around to the north of Birmingham City Centre. It is uniquely located within the borders of Birmingham, Lichfield and Walsall district authorities, and is part of the West Midlands conurbation. It is adjacent to, New Oscott, Great Barr, Four Oaks, Little Aston and Aldridge. Streetly is a semi-rural district, lying close to many farms and is separated from Walsall by open fields and the North Birmingham green belt. The local area includes Sutton Park of which Streetly has its own dedicated gate. Streetly is part of the Birmingham Metropolitan Area and the Birmingham Urban Area. John Crowley (director)
John Crowley (born 19 August 1969) is an Irish film and theatre director. He is best known for the films ''Brooklyn'' (2015) and his debut feature, ''Intermission'' (2003), for which he won an Irish Film and Television Award for Best Director. He is a brother of the designer Bob Crowley. Education Crowley earned a BA in English and Philosophy (1990) and an MA in Philosophy from University College Cork. The Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay is the Academy Award (also known as an Oscar) for the best screenplay not based upon previously published material.
