Difford And Tilbrook
Difford & Tilbrook are the songwriting team of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, known for their work as the principal writers for the new wave rock band Squeeze. In addition to playing guitar for the band, they are responsible for the group's many hits, including " Cool for Cats", " Up the Junction", " Another Nail in My Heart", " Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)", " Tempted" and "Annie Get Your Gun". They have both written independently outside the band, and together wrote the music for the British sit-com '' Girls on Top'' starring Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Ruby Wax and Tracey Ullman. Difford & Tilbrook was also the name under which the pair recorded and toured following the temporary break-up of Squeeze in 1982. That band reunited in 1985 after one self-titled album had been released from the pair. By 1993, Difford and Tilbrook were the only original members left in Squeeze. Difford left Squeeze in 1999, and the band toured without him before breaking up later that ye ...

Take Me I'm Yours
"Take Me I'm Yours" is the debut single by English new wave band Squeeze. It established the band's trademark vocal style, with Chris Difford singing an octave lower than Glenn Tilbrook. Background "Take Me I'm Yours" was one of the first songs the band had written. As Chris Difford recalled, "t waswritten very early on in our career. I don't know a lot of songs lyrically I find that it takes a while to discover what they're about. You write them down, they're almost negatives of a photograph that need to develop and with that one, it's still developing." The song has been described by writers as "synth-pop" and one of Squeeze's " power pop hits", differentiating it from the punk style of much of the band's first album; Difford later named the song one of the only tracks on the album that was representative of Squeeze. Lyrically, the song features images of exotic locations and travels. Difford was inspired to write these lyrics after visiting the home of the band's manager ...

Picking Up The Pieces (Difford & Tilbrook Song)
''Difford & Tilbrook'' is the only studio album released by Difford & Tilbrook. Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook were the main songwriters in the new wave band Squeeze until their 1982 breakup. The duo continued to write songs together, and in 1984 released this self-titled effort. Because Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook have always been the songwriters and only constant members of Squeeze, ''Difford & Tilbrook'' is often considered to be a Squeeze album in all but name. Several remastered tracks from this album have been included on Squeeze compilations such as ''Piccadilly Collection'' and ''Excess Moderation'' (both released in 1996), and tracks "Hope Fell Down" and "Love's Crashing Waves" have regularly been included in Squeeze setlists since 2010. Tony Visconti produced the album, but A&M rejected his mix, and brought in Eric Thorngren to do a new mix. Track listing All songs written by Difford and Tilbrook Tilbrook is a village and civil parish in Cambridgeshir ...

Love's Crashing Waves
"Love's Crashing Waves" is a song written by Difford & Tilbrook and released on their 1984 self-titled debut album. Released as the first single from ''Difford & Tilbrook'', "Love's Crashing Waves" saw moderate commercial success. Though considered the most commercial song on the album, it saw limited chart success: it was the act's only charting single in the UK (reaching number 57), and by 1985 Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook had re-formed their previous (and more popular) band, Squeeze. Difford recalled, Squeeze have, on a few occasions, played this song live. ''Salon Salon may refer to: Common meanings * Beauty salon, a venue for cosmetic treatments * French term for a drawing room, an architectural space in a home * Salon (gathering), a meeting for learning or enjoyment Arts and entertainment * Salon (P ...s Annie Zaleski described the song as a " sophisto-pop gem".
