''Differentology'' is an album by soca singer Bunji Garlin released in 2014 by RCA/VP Records. The album peaked at No. 6 on the US ''Billboard'' Reggae Albums chart. Critical reception Julianne Escovedo Shepherd of ''Rolling Stone'' gave ''Differentology'' a 3 out of 5 stars rating. Shepherd took note that Garlin "blends dancehall, EDM and even trap ("Truck on D Road," with ASAP Ferg) into his sound, without ever seeming like he's trying too hard. Bunji Garlin
Ian Antonio Alvarez (born July 14, 1978), better known by his stage name Bunji Garlin, is a Trinidadian ragga and soca artist. He is also affectionately known as the Viking of Soca. His spouse is Fay-Ann Lyons. Early life Bunji was born on July 14, 1978, in Arima, Trinidad. He is of Saint Lucian and Venezuelan descent. Personal life He married fellow soca artist Fay-Ann Lyons on December 23, 2006, daughter of successful soca singer Superblue. He is also a second cousin of singer Patrice Roberts, who performs alongside the popular Machel Montano. Differentology
"Differentology" is a song by Trinidadian singer and songwriter Bunji Garlin. "Differentology" was released by Sheriff Music on November 7, 2012, as one of the first of Garlin's offerings for the 2013 Carnival season in Trinidad and Tobago. The song was written by Garlin, and produced by Keron Thompson. Garlin stated that the song came to him while in an impromptu session with the guitarist. The track was remixed by Major Lazer for their free EP ''Lazers Never Die'' Vol. 4. "Differentology" was well received by soca music fans and critics alike. The song peaked at number 9 on the ''iTunes'' World Music Chart, and the exact download numbers have not yet been published. A music video for "Differentology" was filmed in February 2013, directed and edited by Nigel Thompson (Black Ice Studios). Paisley Park is a 65,000 square foot estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota, United States, once owned by American musician Prince. It was opened to the public as a museum in October 2016. History Construction of the $10 million complex began in January 1986, and officially opened on September 11, 1987. Designed by architecture firm BOTO Design Inc., of Santa Monica, California, the main designers were architect Bret Thoeny and acoustician Marshall Long. Major Lazer is an American electronic dance music and DJ trio, which includes record producer Diplo, and DJs Walshy Fire and Ape Drums. They were founded in 2008 by Diplo and Switch, with Switch leaving after three years in 2011. He was then replaced by both Jillionaire and Walshy Fire.
