Dieting
Dieting is the practice of eating food in a regulated way to decrease, maintain, or increase body weight, or to prevent and treat diseases such as diabetes and obesity. Dieter Helm (politician)
Dieter Helm (13 July 1941 – 19 July 2022) was a German farmer and politician who served in the Landtag of Brandenburg from 1990 to 2009 and in the parliament of East Germany, the Volkskammer, in 1990. Helm represented the area around Potsdam first as a member of the Democratic Farmers' Party and later the Christian Democratic Union. Biography Early life and career Helm was born on 13 July 1941 in , Saxony. From 1955 to 1957, he received vocational training in agriculture, working as a farmer from 1957 until 1959. Between 1959 and 1962, Helm studied agriculture and horticulture at a technical school in Dresden, and he became a state-certified farmer. Dietrich "Dieter" Wisliceny (13 January 1911 – 4 May 1948) was a member of the ''Schutzstaffel'' (SS) and one of the deputies of Adolf Eichmann, helping to organise and coordinate the large-scale deportations of the Jews across Europe during the Holocaust. Life Dieter was born in 1911 as the son of the lord of the manor (''Rittergut Regulowken'') Erich Wisliceny (d. 1928) and his wife Wally, née Paul, in East Prussia. In 1919, after losing the estate, the family moved to Silesia. After graduating from Gymnasium in Breslau, Wisliceny began studying theology in 1930 at the University of Breslau, but dropped out after one semester. Dieter Thoma (born 19 October 1969) is a West German/German former ski jumper. Career During that time he was the second best German ski jumper after Jens Weißflog. Thoma was not the first known ski jumper in the family: his uncle Georg Thoma was both world and Olympic champion in the nordic combined. Thoma won his first competition in 1990 when he won the Four Hills Tournament. He also won Ski-flying World Championships in Vikersund at the end of the 1989-90 season. Dieter Schnebel (14 March 1930 – 20 May 2018) was a German composer, theologian and musicologist. He composed orchestral music, chamber music, vocal music and stage works. From 1976 until his retirement in 1995, Schnebel served as professor of experimental music at the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin. Career Schnebel was born in Lahr/Baden. Dieter Ruehle is an American musician who is the stadium organist for Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers and National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings. As of December 2024, Ruehle has played for three championship teams in three different sports: the Dodgers in 2020 and 2024; the Los Angeles Lakers in 2002, 2009, and 2010; and the Kings in 2012 and 2014. Dieter Lüst (born 21 September 1956 in Chicago) is a German physicist, full professor for mathematical physics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich since 2004 and a director of the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich.
