Diesel Only Records
Diesel Only Records is a Brooklyn-based country music record label established in 1990 by musician and journalist Jeremy Tepper, then also the lead singer of the World Famous Blue Jays. History Tepper, along with Diesel Only's cofounders, Jay Sherman-Godfrey and Albert Caiati, originally started the label with the goal of releasing vinyl 45s for use in jukeboxes at truck stops. Tepper also started the label with the goal of releasing his own band's music, as well as tracks by other artists from New York City. The first non-vinyl release by the label was 1992's ''Rig Rock Jukebox'', which was also their first singles compilation. Also that year, the label released a single by Mark Brine entitled "New Blue Yodel," which, after Brine sent it to Hank Snow, landed him a gig at the Grand Ole Opry that July. John Marty Stuart (born September 30, 1958) is an American country music, country and bluegrass music singer, songwriter, and musician. Active since 1968, Stuart initially toured with Lester Flatt, and then in Johnny Cash's road band before beginning work as a solo artist in the early 1980s. He is known for his combination of rockabilly, country rock, and bluegrass music influences, his frequent collaborations and cover songs, and his distinctive stage dress. Will Rigby
Will Rigby is an American musician known for being the drummer of jangle pop band the dB's, a band he formed along with Peter Holsapple, Chris Stamey, and Gene Holder in the late 1970s. He has also performed with many other artists and has released two solo albums. Career in the dB's Rigby was a member of the dB's from the band's inception. He performed on several of the dB's albums, including ''Stands for Decibels'', '' Like This'', and ''The Sound of Music''. Dale Watson (singer)
Dale Watson (born October 7, 1962) is an American country/ Texas country singer, guitarist, songwriter, and self-published author based in Marshall, Texas. Biography Watson was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and moved outside of Wilmington, North Carolina, when he was less than a year old. The family moved to Pasadena, Texas, in 1977. He was one of four boys. Watson's father and his brother, Jim, were both musically inclined and guided what have become his longstanding musical influences. Watson began writing his own songs at age 12, making his first recording two years later. Soon after, Watson became an emancipated minor. Laura Cantrell
Laura Rose Cantrell (born July 16, 1967) is a country singer-songwriter and DJ from Nashville, Tennessee. Biography Cantrell moved to New York City from her native Nashville to study English at Columbia University. She briefly recorded songs with future Superchunk guitarist Mac McCaughan and others in a lo-fi band called Bricks and deejaying on the university's radio station, WKCR, until joining WFMU after her graduation in 1993. Her singing career began when she was at college, performing with various local groups. She later befriended John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants, with whom she sings on the band's '' Apollo 18'' (1992). Flansburgh also released her first solo material: an EP on his "Hello CD of the Month Club" in June 1996, which was reissued in 2004 as ''The Hello Recordings''.
