''The Great Cheese Robbery'' ( (1986), (1987)) is a 47-minute Czechoslovak-German feature-length animated film directed by Václav Bedřich. The film is a comedy about three mice living in a cinema. After watching many thriller films they plot a . It is a parody of '' The Great Train Robbery''. The film is based on the children's book by Jean Van Leeuwen ''The Great Cheese Conspiracy'', first published in 1969. Bedřich was both the director and a screenwriter, including character design. It was his longest animation. In 1991 an English-language version was dubbed by CINAR under the title ''The Great Cheese Conspiracy'', i.e., matching the title of the original book. Luděk Sobota (born 27 May 1943, Prague) is a Czech stand-up comedian and actor. He studied at Faculty of Theatre. He had his own theatre in Prague, Divadlo Ludka Soboty (Theatre of Luděk Sobota), which was located near the metro station I. P. Pavlova. Petr Skoumal (7 March 1938 – 28 September 2014) was a Czechs, Czech musician and composer. He is best known as a composer of music for films and theatre performances. Biography Petr Skoumal was born on 7 March 1938 in Prague to Aloys Skoumal and Hana Skoumalová, both notable traslators from English. He learned to play the piano from childhood and also received lessons in London when his father worked there as a cultural attaché after World War II. Because he had a small finger span, he was not accepted to study piano at university. He studied conducting at the Prague Conservatory and then choir management at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno. After his studies, he worked on stage music, especially at The Drama Club in Prague, where he was a director and musical dramaturg.
