', also known as ' ( 787) is an 1823 one-act singspiel by Franz Schubert after a libretto by Ignaz Franz Castelli with spoken dialogue by the composer. Castelli's libretto was based on ''Lisistrata, ou Les Athéniennes, Comédie en un acte et en prose, mêlée de vaudevilles'' by François-Benoît Hoffman, which had premiered at the Théâtre Feydeau in Paris in 1802. The French play in turn was based on ''Lysistrata'' by Aristophanes (411 BCE). Peter Lika
Peter Lika (born 1947) is a German bass in opera and concert, focused on both oratorio singing as on historically informed performances. Life Lika was born in Augsburg in 1947. He began his singing career as a boy soloist with the Regensburger Domspatzen. He studied voice in Munich, and won prizes at competitions in there, in Geneva and Verviers. He was a member of the Stadttheater Augsburg from 1972 to 1977, and again from 1980 to 1981. He performed with the Bayerische Kammeroper in Veitshöchheim, a chamber opera where Baroque operas were performed in historically informed performance. Leon Botstein (born December 14, 1946, in Zürich, Switzerland) is a Swiss-born American conductor, educator, historical musicologist, and scholar serving as the President of Bard College. Biography Botstein was born in Zürich, Switzerland, in 1946. The son of Polish-Jewish physicians, Botstein immigrated to New York City at the age of two. He studied violin with Roman Totenberg and, during the summers, studied with faculty from the National Conservatory in Mexico City. In 1963, at age 16, Botstein graduated from the High School of Music and Art in Manhattan. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 1967 with a bachelor's degree in history. The American Symphony Orchestra is a New York–based American orchestra founded in 1962 by Leopold Stokowski whose mission is to demystify orchestral music and make it accessible and affordable for all audiences. Heinz Wallberg (16 March 192329 September 2004) was a German conductor. Wallberg was born in Herringen, Westphalia. He studied trumpet, violin and piano. He helped to support his family with his musical training after his father became unable to work. During World War II, he was a morse code operator, and simultaneously directed an army band and led a string quartet. After the war, he studied at the Dortmund and Cologne conservatories. Adolf Dallapozza (born 14 March 1940 in Bolzano) is an Austrian tenor in opera, operetta and musical theatre He worked for more than 40 years at the Vienna Volksoper. Career Dallapozza was trained as a clerk and started work in a book shop. Kurt Moll (11 April 19385 March 2017) was a German operatic bass singer who enjoyed a widely renowned international career.
