Didz Hammond
David Jonathan Hammond (born 19 July 1981), better known as Didz Hammond, is an English people, English bassist. He was the bassist and backing vocalist in The Cooper Temple Clause (while also occasionally playing other instruments), and in Carl Barât's Dirty Pretty Things (band), Dirty Pretty Things. The band's second album, ''Romance At Short Notice'', saw Hammond taking on more vocal duties within the band, for example contributing all the vocals on the ballad "The North". He is also the bass player in Brett Anderson's live electric band. Before music, Didz made his trade as a stand up comedian in Reading. In 2002, Hammond was named "34th coolest person in the world" by ''NME''. He usually plays a yellow and black Fender Precision Bass and a red Burns London, Burns Bison bass, but also has two semi-acoustic Epiphone basses, one in yellow and black sunburst, and a pink banjo, the other in red and black. Carl Barât
Carl Ashley Raphael Barât (; born 6 June 1978) is a British musician best known for being the co-frontman with Pete Doherty of the indie rock band the Libertines. He was the frontman and guitarist of Dirty Pretty Things, and in 2010 debuted a solo studio album. In 2014 he announced the creation of his new band, the Jackals. Early life Carl Barât was born in Basingstoke, north Hampshire, England, on 6 June 1978, and spent most of his childhood in nearby Whitchurch, Hampshire. In a September 2004 interview with ''Blender'', Barât mentioned he is of French, Russian and Polish descent. As a youth, Barât divided his time between his divorced parents. Burns Guitars London is an English manufacturer of electric guitars and bass guitars, founded by Alice Louise Farrell (1908–1993) and James Ormston (Jim) Burns (1925–1998) in 1959. Ormston Burns Ltd. was bought up by Baldwin Piano Company in 1965, and the company was renamed "Baldwin-Burns". Burns guitars were reintroduced in 1991 under the name "Burns London", and the product line now includes a collector's edition of the first model the company produced. Banjo
The banjo is a stringed instrument with a thin membrane stretched over a frame or cavity to form a resonator. The membrane is typically circular, and in modern forms is usually made of plastic, where early membranes were made of animal skin. Early forms of the instrument were fashioned by African Americans and had African antecedents. In the 19th century, interest in the instrument was spread across the United States and United Kingdom by traveling shows of the 19th-century minstrel show fad, followed by mass production and mail-order sales, including instructional books.
