Didi Damodaran
Deedi Damodaran is an Indian screenwriter who works in Malayalam cinema. Gulmohar (2008) is her first film in Malayalam directed by Jayaraj, starring Ranjith (director), Ranjith, Siddique, Augustine, and Neenu Mathew. She is the daughter of the veteran screen writer of Malayalam cinema T.Damodaran. She is one of the founding members of Women in Cinema Collective,WCC , the organization for the welfare of women workers of Malayalam movie industry. Jayarajan Rajasekharan Nair, professionally credited as Jayaraj, is an Indian filmmaker, who predominantly works in Malayalam film industry. He has won many awards, including Crystal Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, the Golden Peacock award at the IFFI, and the FIPRESCI Award from the International Federation of Film Critics. He is also a seven-time recipient of the National Film Award and several Kerala State Film Awards. Ranjith Balakrishnan (born 5 September 1964) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, lyricist, producer, and actor who works in Malayalam cinema. Ranjith made his directorial debut in 2001 with '' Ravanaprabhu'', the sequel to '' Devaasuram''. Women in Cinema Collective (abbreviated as WCC) is an organisation for women working in the Malayalam cinema industry. Formation The organisation was formed following harassment of a Mollywood actress. The organisation aims at the welfare of women in Malayalam cinema. On November 1, 2017, Women in Cinema Collective was registered as a society in Kerala. Activities * ‘Punarvaayana’, a year-long series of events was intended to address and bring more awareness in the society on issues such as exclusionary workspaces, workplace exploitation and gender discrimination. Kerala Cafe ''Kerala Cafe'' is a 2009 Indian Malayalam-language anthology film produced by Ranjith and directed by a team of ten directors including Lal Jose, Shaji Kailas, Anwar Rasheed, Shyamaprasad, B. Unnikrishnan, Revathy, Anjali Menon, M. Padmakumar, Shankar Ramakrishnan, and Uday Ananthan. For the first time in Malayalam cinema, one film was conceived by a team of ten directors.
