Dick Roche (hurler)
Richard "Dickie" Roche (1935 – 12 May 2014) was an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Waterford senior team. Born in Waterford, Roche first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-one when he first linked up with the senior team. He made his debut during the 19565–57 league. Roche was a regular member of the team for much of the next decade and won one Munster medal. Her was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. In a club career that spanned four decades Roche won a combined total of sixteen championship medals as a hurler and Gaelic footballer with Mount Sion. Throughout his career Roche made 5 championship appearances for Waterford. He retired from inter-county hurling following he conclusion of the 1964 championship. Ferrybank GAA
Ferrybank GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club based in the village of Ferrybank Co Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland. It is situated in the suburb of Ferrybank, Waterford, Ferrybank on the north bank of the River Suir. There have been Gaelic games played in Ferrybank since the first team known as the Davis's was formed in the early 1890s. The club, under its present guise, was formed in 1950, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in the year 2000. The club caters for boys and girls from the age of 5 years and upwards. At juvenile level, the club were U-14 and U-16 County Champions in hurling in 2007 and teams are fielded at all juvenile grades. At adult level in hurling, the club fields teams at senior and junior levels. In Gaelic football, the club were Waterford Junior Champions in 2007.
