Dick Casull
Richard J. Casull () (February 15, 1931 – May 6, 2018) was an American gunsmith and wildcat cartridge developer whose experiments with .45 Colt ammunition in the 1950s led to the creation of the .454 Casull cartridge. Casull, whose passion was six-shooters, was determined to create high-velocity rounds for the .45 Colt. His goal was to achieve a muzzle velocity of 2,000 feet per second with Colt .45 rounds fired from a single-action Army-style revolver with a -inch barrel. This proved impossible due to the tensile strength of the Colt .45 cylinder, so he set out to develop his own casing and bullet. Casull began his career as a wildcat cartridge developer after having contact with Elmer Keith in the 1940s, an Idaho rancher, firearm A firearm is any type of gun that uses an explosive charge and is designed to be readily carried and operated by an individual. 22 LR
The .22 long rifle, also known as the .22 LR or 5.7×15mmR, is a long-established variety of .22 caliber rimfire ammunition originating from the United States. It is used in a wide range of firearms including rifles, pistols, revolvers, and submachine guns. In terms of units sold, it is by far the most common ammunition that is manufactured and sold in the world. Common uses include hunting and shooting sports. Ammunition produced in .22 long rifle is effective at short ranges, has little recoil, and is inexpensive to purchase. These qualities make it ideal for plinking and marksmanship training. History American cartridge manufacturer J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company introduced the .22 long rifle cartridge in 1887.The round owes its origin to the .22 BB Cap of 1845 and the .22 Short of 1857. It combined the case of the .22 long of 1871 with a bullet, giving it a longer overall length, a higher muzzle velocity and superior performance as a hunting and target round, render ... Winchester Model 1892
The Winchester Model 1892 is a lever-action repeating rifle designed by John Browning as a smaller, lighter version of his large-frame Model 1886, and which replaced the Model 1873 as the company's lever-action for pistol-caliber rounds such as the .44-40. History When asked by Winchester to design an improved lever action to compete with a recent Marlin offering, John Browning said he would have the prototype completed in under a month or it would be free. Within two weeks, Browning had a functioning prototype of the '92. Calibers for the rifle vary and some are custom-chambered. The original rounds were the .32-20, .38-40, and .44-40 Winchester centerfire rounds, followed in 1895 by the new .25-20. A few Model '92s chambered for .218 Bee were produced in 1936–38. Rifles in .44-40 proved to be most popular, far outstripping sales of the other chamberings. The Winchester Models 53 (1924) and 65 (1933) were relabeled Model 1892s. Admiral Robert E. Taurus Raging Judge Magnum
The Taurus Judge is a five-shot revolver designed and produced by Taurus International, chambered for .410 bore shot shells and the .45 Colt cartridge. Taurus promotes the Judge as a self-defense tool against carjacking and for home protection. History There have been two model number designations for this firearm, the 4410 (no longer produced) and the 4510 (current). Both model numbers are essentially the same revolver, and any 4410 or 4510 will yield basically the same performance. It got its name "The Judge" in 2006 when Bob Morrison, Executive Vice President, learned that judges in high-crime areas of Miami, Florida, were purchasing the revolver for personal defense in their courtrooms, and after Morrison investigated further, the model designation was changed from 4410 to 4510 to more accurately reflect the revolver's versatility (.45 Colt + 410 shot → "4510").
