Ansen Dibell
Ansen Dibell was the pen name used by Nancy Ann Dibble (September 8, 1942 – March 7, 2006), an American science fiction author, who also published books about fiction writing. Born in Staten Island, New York, she received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Iowa Writers Workshop and earned a doctorate in 19th-century English literature. She taught literature and creative writing at several colleges and universities until 1980, when she became a freelance editor and author. From 1983 she worked as editor at Writer's Digest Books. She published a number of stories and poems in ''The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction'' and received two awards for her poetry. Her novels sublimate events in her life into fiction. Philo Dibble
Philo Louis Dibble (September 10, 1951 – October 1, 2011) was an American diplomat. Early life Dibble was born on September 10, 1951, in Alexandria, Egypt. He was named for his father, Philo Tolman Dibble, who was also a diplomat. Dibble attended the Sidwell Friends School and graduated from the Woodrow Wilson High School. He graduated from St. John's College in 1976. He went to graduate school at Johns Hopkins University, where he earned a master's degree in international studies in 1980. Career Dibble joined the United States Foreign Service in 1980. He served as a diplomat in Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Pakistan, Syria and Lebanon. He served in Lebanon shortly after the 1983 United States embassy bombing. He was retired from 2006 to 2010. Dibble returned to the Foreign Service in September 2010, when he was appointed as the deputy assistant secretary of state for Iran for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. Hamilton Dibble Jessup
Hamilton Dibble Jessup (May 2, 1806 – November 24, 1892) was a doctor, militiaman, and political figure in Canada West. He came from the founding family of Prescott, Ontario. He was the son of Edward Jessup, Jr. and the grandson of Edward Jessup, a United Empire Loyalist. He studied medicine in Montreal and opened a practice in Prescott, Ontario. He served 10 terms as mayor of Prescott. Jessup first joined the Grenville Militia in 1829 as an Ensign eventually rising to Captain, and had commanded the Prescott Volunteer Battalion at the Battle of the Windmill in 1838. He raised and commanded the 1st Prescott Rifle Regiment in 1856 which later became the 56th Grenville Regiment of which was he Lieutenant-Colonel. Samuel Dibble (September 16, 1837 – September 16, 1913) was a lawyer, educator and U.S. Representative from South Carolina. Birth and childhood Samuel Dibble was born in Charleston, South Carolina, the oldest son of Philander Virgil (1808-1883) and Frances Ann (Evans) Dibble (1815-1891). Philander and his brother Andrew Dibble (1800-1846) moved from Bethel, Connecticut, to Charleston engaging in business together as hatters.
