Diane Teel
Diane Teel ( White; born February 16, 1948) is an American former professional stock car racing driver. She was the first woman to enter a NASCAR Busch Grand National Series (now called Xfinity Series) race (in 1982). Teel raced eleven times in the series with two top-ten finishes. She began her career as a courier for a racing driver while employed as a school bus driver on weekdays. Teel moved into the NASCAR Limited Sportsman Division in 1977 where she raced strongly, and in the following year became the first woman to win the series championship. She retired from racing in 1986 to spend more time with her family and continued as a school bus driver. Biography Teel was born on February 16, 1948, in Seaford, Virginia, and is the daughter of Harry and Hilda White. She has one sister, Betty. Seaford is an unincorporated community in York County, Virginia, United States, on the Virginia Peninsula. As of the 2010 Census, the Seaford postal area (ZIP Code 23696) had a population of 3,669. History John Chisman patented on Crab Neck in 1636 and began the Seaford Settlement. The area was originally called Crab Neck, Crab Rock and Calamar. The Crab Neck post office was established in 1889 and changed its name to Seaford in 1910. The community has remained small over the years and includes many waterfront properties. Atlanta Motor Speedway (formerly known Atlanta International Raceway from 1960 to 1990) is a 1.54-mile entertainment facility in Hampton, Georgia, United States, 20 miles (32 km) south of Atlanta. It has annually hosted NASCAR Cup Series stock car races since its inauguration in 1960. The venue was bought by Speedway Motorsports in 1990. In 1994, 46 condominium (housing), condominiums were built over the northeastern side of the track. In 1997, to standardize the track with Speedway Motorsports' other two intermediate ovals, the entire track was almost completely rebuilt. ISCARS Dash Touring Series
The ISCARS Dash Touring Series (previously known as the NASCAR Baby Grand National, Goody's Dash Series and IPOWER Dash Series among others) was a stock car racing series created by NASCAR in 1973, initially running solely at North Wilkesboro Speedway, that involved V6 powered stock cars raced over relatively short distances. In 1975 the series branched out to other tracks besides North Wilkesboro Speedway. After the end of the 2003 season, NASCAR transferred the Goody's Dash series to IPOWER (International Participants Of Winning Edge Racing). In 2004, they ran the IPOWER Dash Series. In January 2005, officials announced the cancellation of the 2005 Dash season due to problems with sponsorship. Bill Champion (October 16, 1921 – May 20, 1991) was an American stock car racing driver who competed in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series from 1951 to 1976.
