Diana Murray
Diana Mary Murray (née Collyer; born 14 September 1952) is an archaeologist who was secretary of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS; 2004–2015) and latterly joint chief executive officer of Historic Scotland (2013–2015). Currently President of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and Chair of the Scottish Association for Marine Science, she has held a series of Trustee roles with different Scottish Institutions and was previously Chair of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (1995–1996). Education Diana Murray studied for a master's degree in Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge from 1971 to 1974. Historic Scotland
Historic Scotland () was an executive agency of the Scottish Government, executive agency of the Scottish Office and later the Scottish Government from 1991 to 2015, responsible for safeguarding Scotland's built heritage and promoting its understanding and enjoyment. The Society of Antiquaries of London (SAL) is a learned society of historians and archaeologists in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1707, received its royal charter in 1751 and is a Charitable organization, registered charity. Scottish Seabird Centre
The Scottish Seabird Centre is a marine conservation and education charity, that is supported by an award-winning visitor attraction in North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland. Opened by the Duke of Rothesay in 2000 and funded by the Millennium Commission. The showpiece of the centre is the interactive live cameras out to the wildlife on the Firth of Forth islands, including Bass Rock, Isle of May, Fidra and Craigleith. The Bass Rock is the world's largest colony of Northern gannets with an estimated 150,000 birds present. History Materials used to construct the centre were, whenever possible, environmentally sustainable and locally sourced. The centre was designed by Edinburgh architects Simpson & Brown to make use of natural light and ventilation, and to offer panoramic views both to sea and inland towards North Berwick Law. The Scottish Waterways Trust was an independent registered charity, established as part of The Waterways Trust in 2000. In 2012 The Waterways Trust merged its operations in England and Wales with the Canal & River Trust, and the organisation in Scotland became an independent charity. Foundation In 2009, sailing and marine activities in Scotland were in relatively good health despite the 2008 financial crisis and the Great Recession, but the British Waterways Trust was already consulting about changing from being under state control to trust arrangements. The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) was an executive non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government that was "sponsored" inanced and with oversightthrough Historic Scotland, an executive agency of the Scottish Government.
