Diamond Peak (Idaho)
Diamond Peak is the highest point in the Lemhi Range in the Rocky Mountains in Idaho. At above sea level, it is the third highest peak in Idaho. It is situated east of Borah Peak in the Lost River Range, opposite the Little Lost River valley. It is the highest point in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. Butte County, Idaho
Butte County is a rural county located in the U.S. state of Idaho. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,574, making it the third-least populous county in Idaho. Its county seat and largest city is Arco. The county was established in 1917 from parts of Bingham, Blaine, and Jefferson counties. The county gained territory in the Clyde area from Custer County in 1937 to reach its present boundary. History The first settlement in Butte County occurred about south of the present town site of Arco in 1878. The settlement was then known by the names of Kennedy Crossing and Lower Crossing of the Lost River and was located in eastern Alturas County. Borah Peak
Borah Peak, also known as Mount Borah or Beauty Peak, is the highest mountain in the U.S. state of Idaho and one of the most prominent peaks in the contiguous United States. It is located in the central section of the Lost River Range, within the Challis National Forest in eastern Custer County. On February 11, 2021, the USGS officially recognized Mt. Lost River Range
The Lost River Range is a high mountain range of the Rocky Mountains, located in Central Idaho, in the Northwestern United States. It runs southeast for approximately from the Salmon River near the community of Challis to the Snake River Valley near Arco. To the west are the valleys of the Salmon and the Big Lost Rivers, while to the east are the Little Lost River and Pashimeroi Valleys. The range starts at the east bank of the Salmon River, at an elevation of about .
