Dialectique De La Dialectique
''Dialectique de la dialectique'' is a 1945 text publication by Romanian surrealists Gherasim Luca and Dolfi Trost. Its subtitle was ''Message to the International Surrealist Movement''. Like the artists previous work it was largely based on surrealist theory and the sustainance of the surrealist movement. It called for the preservation of the surrealist movement in a "constantly revolutionary state" to counter the decline of the movement. It begins by criticising the then movement's "artistic deviation" and "the petrification of its revolutionary effort". Following this it makes a statement as to how artists can counter this: by "constantly surpass ngitself". Love is declared to be the "principal method of knowledge and action" for the artists. Finally the artists declare the need to ''"revolt against nature and dissolving the oedipal complex in order to liberate love"''. Gherasim Luca
Gherasim Luca (; 23 July 1913 – 9 February 1994) was a Romanian surrealist theorist and poet. Born Salman Locker in Romania and also known as Costea Sar, and Petre Malcoci, he became an apatrid after leaving Romania in 1952. Biography Born in Bucharest the son of Jewish tailor Berl Locker (died 1914), he spoke Yiddish, Romanian, German, and French. During 1938, he traveled frequently to Paris where he was introduced to surrealists. World War II and the official antisemitism in Romania forced him into local exile. During the pre-Communist period of Romanian independence, he founded a surrealist artists group with Gellu Naum, Paul Păun, Virgil Teodorescu and Dolfi Trost. His first publications, including poems in French followed. Dolfi Trost
Dolfi or Dolphi Trost (1916 in Brăila – 1966 in Chicago, Illinois) was a Romanian surrealist poet, artist, and theorist, and the instigator of entopic graphomania. Together with Gherasim Luca, he was the author of '' Dialectique de la dialectique'' (1945). He also authored a work entitled ''Le même du même''. He also wrote the book, '' Vision dans le cristal. Oedipus Complex
The Oedipus complex (also spelled Œdipus complex) is an idea in psychoanalytic theory. The complex is an ostensibly universal phase in the life of a young boy in which, to try to immediately satisfy basic desires, he unconsciously wishes to have sex with his mother and disdains his father for having sex and being satisfied before him. Sigmund Freud introduced the idea in ''The Interpretation of Dreams'' (1899), and coined the term in his paper ''A Special Type of Choice of Object made by Men'' (1910). Surautomatism is any theory or act in practice of surrealist creative production taking, or purporting to take, automatism to its most absurd limits.
