''Diachrysia chryson'', the scarce burnished brass, is a moth of the family Noctuidae. The species was first described by Eugen Johann Christoph Esper in 1789. It is found in central and southern Europe (including the southern part of the British Isles), Asia Minor across the Palearctic to Japan. Technical description and variation ''P.chryson'' Esp. Forewing brownish fuscous tinged with purple: lines dark brown, inconspicuous; inner line waved, oblique inwards; median line visible only at costa; a large subquadrate shining brassy blotch beyond cell between veins 7 and 3, the space between it and inner margin suffused with deep golden brown, both traversed by the fine outer line, which becomes lustrous towards inner margin ; submarginal line very obscure, waved, limiting the brassy and brown patches; hindwing pale bronzy fuscous, darker towards termen. It is found in Europe, the Caucasus, the Far East, Primorye, Ussuri, Korea, Manchuria, Mongolia, Transbaikalia, Siberia and Japan. The wingspan is 32–34 mm. In the south of Europe the range extends to southern Spain, southern Italy and the Balkan peninsula. It is lacking on most of the Greek Islands. ''Diachrysia aereoides'', the dark-spotted looper or lined copper looper, is a moth of the family Noctuidae. The species was first described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1864. It is found in North America from Newfoundland west to northern California. It reaches its southernmost distribution in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The wingspan is 28–40 mm. Adults are on wing from June to July. There is one generation per year. The larvae are probably general feeders on herbaceous and woody plants. ''Diachrysia balluca'', the green-patched looper, is a moth of the family Noctuidae. The species was first described by Carl Geyer in 1832. It is found in north-eastern North America from Nova Scotia west to Manitoba and south to western North Carolina. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the southern limit of this species. The only other records in the south are from the type locality of Georgia and a record from Liberty County in north-western Florida. These possibly represent strays. The wingspan is about 45 mm. Adults are on wing from June to September. ''Diachrysia zosimi'' is a species of moth of the family Noctuidae. It is found in Eastern Europe and bordering regions, such as Poland, Northern Italy, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Southern Siberia. Description The wingspan is 32–42 mm. Warren (1914) states ''P. zosimi'' Hbn. (64 e). Forewing glossy green, the costal and terminal areas narrowly brownish; a diffuse brown costal triangle containing the 3 dark-edged stigmata; a dark somewhat hook shaped mark on inner margin represents the outer lower portion of basal patch: the bright green area is limited outwardly by a widely outcurved outer line, which is preceded on inner margin by a dark triangular mark, and followed by a small dark blotch at anal angle; hindwing shining pale fuscous, with darker outer line and terminal border separated by a paler band.
