Dhofar Sports, Cultural and Social Club ( is an Omani sports club based in Salalah, Oman. The club currently plays in the Oman Professional League, top division of Oman Football Association, Omani football. Their home ground is Al-Saada Stadium, but they also recognize the older Salalah Sports Complex as their home ground. Both stadiums are government owned, but the club also owns its own personal stadium and sports equipment, as well as their own training facilities. History The idea for the foundation of a club in Salalah began in the 1960s, resulting in various meetings among the town's people. The names considered for the new club were Al-Ahlia, Al-Nahda, Al-Arabi, and Al-Shoala, but the name to be chosen for the club was to be "Al-Shaab", literally translating to "The People", and in 1968 the new club was finally founded. Al-Saada Stadium
Al-Sa'ada Stadium (), which is part of Al-Sa'ada Sports Complex (), is a government-owned multi-use stadium in the Al-Sa'ada district of Salalah, in southern Oman. The stadium is used only for football (soccer), football matches and is the home stadium of Salalah-based clubs Dhofar (football club), Dhofar, and Al Nasr SC (Salalah), Al-Nasr. The stadium originally had an estimated capacity of 12,000 people, but with the 2010 renovation making the stadium an all-seater stadium, all-seater, the maximum capacity decreased to an estimated 8 to 9 thousand spectators. The Bahraini Premier League is the main domestic football competition in the kingdom of Bahrain. Currently known as the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League, the first season was held in 1956-1957. The 2013–14 Oman Professional League (known as the ''Omantel Professional League'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 38th edition of the top football league in Oman. The Oman Football League got the seal of approval of a professional league on 1 September 2013 and will henceforth be called the Omantel Professional League (OPL).
